Eh, to be honest, the kind of people doing these unboxings aren't the kind of individuals who are going to dive into rooting and unlocking bootloaders head on.

So I'm starting to see hands on videos and unboxings etc... Have any of them ran an OEM unlock command yet?
I'd be highly surprised if this didn't work.. However, big G have moved the goal posts with this release so will be interesting.

why are people even worrying? its a ****ing nexus device. no **** you will easily be able to unlock it.
That is what everyone thinks until they change it at some point. You act like they are required by law to have it open.
While yes i think it will be, but its a valid question and to act like its such a sure thing is very close minded.

Looks like it works on both the N6 and N9 (with the above option checked in Developer Options).
Yep, bummer though that you may have to boot up and perform an abbreviated setup to get that checked before unlocking (and thus wiping) it and re-doing it.

IMO Remember, do it right away so that you have nothing to lose data wise. this is just to unlock the bootloader, it doesn't mean you have to root it or go further, but then who here does anything halfway? :)

Yes the fastboot oem unlock command works, but you have to enable it in the Dev Options. If you don't enable it, the command won't work right and the bootloader won't unlock.
Yeah i picked up a N9 yesterday and noticed that within about 1 minute of using the devices, and i have seen reports of the N6 being the same.
Thanks for the reply though.
