Is it normal for the case to shift slightly when I push the phone and back of the case together? It doesn't seem to be an exact fit.

Um what? I don't know what you mean by this. This case fits VERY tight when on properly - it's so tight it often tries to take the battery door off with it when you remove it.

Are you talking about the Verizon Kickstand case this thread is about, or some other case? This case is all one piece...

The version kickstand case, bought at the verizon store. Upper right section off the case is not completely flush with the phone.

Can you take a pic of it while it's on your phone? Still not sure what you mean. Everywhere the case touches the phone it's tight on mine and it's no less flush in any region.
Or at the very least, take it back to the store and try another?

It will not work in the OEM Samsung car dock or desk dock. No case made now or ever could do this, both require the phone depth and width to be absolutely unchanged.

The case should not be flush with the phone, the case corners wrap over the face of the phone, and as such if you set the phone face down, the screen will NOT be flat on the table, only the 4 corners of the case would be touching... the screen would be about 1/32" off the table.

I've been using this case for a couple months and love that it does not make the phone big and bulky, yet it offers a great amount of protection and the utility built into the kickstand is something that I could not imagine giving up. To me, this case along with some form of screen cover (Zagg is on mine) is the ultimate normal duty set up.

Sure, if your going to throw your phone face-first into the corner of your desk, drop it 3 stories, or drop it in a swimming pool... you may be the guy that should buy an Otter Box. For me, I hate the Otter Box,way too big. I like a thin and sleek phone, and with this case, you can have decent armor in a very attractive package.

Hey larry, awesome post and great pics man. I love the rulers. That last picture really sold me. My hands are not very big at all... i'd say pretty average to smaller than average and this phone seems a tad too thin sometimes (maybe it's just the slickness) so this case seems perfect

Anyone out there on the fence - jump - this is the best case I have ever used all around.

Protects the back - adds kickstand (yes I actually use it) - and adds a milimeter of edge to the front so that when I set it face down my screen protector is not rubbed and filthy.

This thing is on tight as a glove and rock solid and yet can be removed easily by using that edge and the camera hole.

KUDOS TO THE ENGINEER THAT DESIGNED THIS THING!

Note: Those steel rules are in inches, we use 10th scales in the NDE world. So when you see those gradiants that might appear to be centimeters and milimeters, that is not the fact.

1"=25.4mm and 0.1" = 2.54mm

Larry you should REALLY get a Steinheil ultra clear screen protector. Man that protector looks horrible.

Hey Larry0071 can you link me to where you got this case pictured above...its really nice....
That's the case this whole thread is about... and as I mentioned in the OP, it's all over eBay all day for $10 shipped. Multiple sellers. Just do a search (again, as I mentioned in the OP) for "fascinate kickstand" and you'll find it.

larry how do you use your phone? that screen protector looks terrible.
You can only see the screen protector whith canera flashes or when the screen is off and the room lighting hits it the wrong way. Otherwise, you can not see that screen protector at all. If I handed you the phone with it turned on, you would have to stand there tilting the screen this way and that to see that screen protector. I love it! I can care less how it looks turned off or in photos, it looks PERFECT while I am using it!

If you lay it flat on the desk and the lights above are reflecting on the screen, that is when you see it. If you have it in your hands or on the kick stand, you see perfectly smooth screen.

Just to show you,

These are typical normal viewing angles, holding camera in front of my nose with flash turned off:

Here is manipulating things so I can capture the screen protector reflecting the lighting above me:

(Note: The big FUBAR on the left side is damage from my motorcycle tank bag. It has a clear plastic map pocket, I slide the phone in and enable google navigation and on a hot day the screen cover and tank bag kind of merged as one. As I forced the phone apart from the plastic of the tank bag, it stretched and pulled the screen protector about a 1/4" away from the screen and I thought it was screwed. I left the phone in the sun for about 5 min and it smotthed down like this and I am good with it.)

So you can see, it all depends on the viewing angle. And normal viewing, you never see that stuff at all, or if you do... barely. I also am not anal retentive about screen protectors being seen, so it does not bother me in the least if I can see some artifact from the cover. I am happy that I can not care too much about where the phone is, how it is dropped, what gets thrown on it, or where it lands when I toss it.... I have it covered tip to tail!

I just got this case for 9.88 with shipping included on eBay and I like how it looks. I have some questions though from people that have had this case.

1. Has anyone dropped their phone with this case on it? If so did anything happen to the phone? Reason I asked is because this case is so flush to the phone that is looks like it doesn't offer that much protection in a fall.
2. Over time does the kickstand stay in place or does it come loose at times?
3. I like the feel of the case but as a person that sometimes has sweaty hands it seems like this case would slip from my grip?

These are concerns that I have, but not a deal breaker. Just got it and was just wondering. I liked the case I had on my phone because it was thicker and it had a firm grip feel to it but no kickstand.

If you want to know from what seller I got this case from PM me. One thing I didn't like from the seller is that he won't do combined shipping but his explanation was that he was selling them below cost already and was truthful with the fact that he is making some money from the shipping. I received it very fast, ordered it 1/21 and received it today 1/25.

Larry;

I guess I'm just OCD. I re-applied the screen protector I got with my Otterbox 3 times just to make sure it was perfect. That would aggravate the hell out of me if mine looked like that lol

Heres my screen protector:

LOL... I'm more about waxing my Excursion or cleaning my dirt bike.

The phone... it's just a phone :) I'm not emotional or in love with the phone like I am some of my "stuff"..... Pretty much, if the thing works, Im not one to fuss too much with it.
