I could never dual boot. Linux just wouldn't installed. I would always get stuck on a screen that said waiting for usb or something like that

Thats Grub bootloader, there used to be a derivative of it(called burg) that was themeable and you could set it up similar to window's login screen. It was awesome for a while, but broke with an update to ubuntu. I haven't tried in a while to see if I can get it to work again.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvP_4J2MUEc is the process I used. When I first turn the lap top on it goes to a screen that I use the arrow up or down to select which OS I want then hit enter. Its really easy.
Wifi drivers and acpi support were a hit and miss on my laptop up until recentlylolThats Grub bootloader, there used to be a derivative of it(called burg) that was themeable and you could set it up similar to window's login screen. Edit: and a dual boot shouldn't be that hard, especially with Ubuntu as it's packaged with Grub by default.

This all brings back memories of college, it seemed like each professor had a certain flavor of linux he wanted us to use for his course. Some of them were an absolute pain in the ass. I remember having to spend hours compiling the kernel and some hardware drivers just to get Gentoo booted up on my old P3 machine and even then it ran like **** for me.
I think at worst you'll have wifi driver issues, even then, thats a rarity now lollooks like ill try a dual boot from my ladies Toshiba Satellite L755...who knows though maybe not since im seeing a nightmare of users posting the linux wont run on toshiba lol
Thank you. I am humbled. Congratulations on becoming an RC  . Yes the Shift community is awesome.Wanted to come to the place where it all started....and say thanks awesome community here, thanks to many awesome people (I've already thanked him, but @prboy1969 is just an awesome person, and I still remember that he was the first one to reply when I made my first ever post asking a question)
Anyway, thank you to all those here, helping out. Thanks to all of you and others from the S3 forum I am now an RC.
Thanks everyone for making this an amazing community always willing to help out. It's truly saddening that my shift is no longer in any functional condition.
Thanks

Well I mean, people are currently doing that for development. How do you think you can theme an app and then repack it without the system realizing that it's been changed? There are ways to keep the signature from breaking when you're repacking an app. Here's an interesting article about a possible security glitch in android.

Eh, probably. There's always loopholes for everything, it's just a matter of time before they're found.Yea I agree. My wife fiund this article and was all "oh my gosh! " over a "security" bug. I figure this is just the latest attempt at stopping development.
