Is it just me or do roms work this way? On the very day of flashing, battery life seems to be great! Phone goes into deep sleep, doze works etc. but over a week's period, the battery performance starts degrading. No deep sleep, no doze... what's wrong? Anyone?

Probably it's related to something you install.. Roms aren't women :D

Choose advanced wipe and wipe system, data, cache ,dalvik and try installing the ROM.
Always getting error 7.
I've read first post where is written error 7 -> baseband problem, but baseband is OK
I've read other web sites where is written error 7 -> /system too small, but /system is 1,2 Gb (I've no more system1/system2 since 1 year ago)
I have now cm 13 and I tried:
1) simple wipe cache/dalvik + install
2) factory reset + install
I've also downloaded cm 14.1 with ADM just to be sure it's not a .zip problem.
Perhaps I just have to stay with cm 13 ...
you can alwas check twrp log, if using twrp recovery

Often random reboots with 1206 version. There were only one with 1205, never hqppened before.

Also my old headache : home button sometimes have to be pressed twice since 1205.

I also had some reboots, especially when idle at night from the last 2 builds. I wake up to the sim card pin with touch not working and having to do a hard reboot.

Best ROM

This is by far the best CM ROMs. Using the Dec 5 nightly in my 2.5 year old Mi3W. After full 100% charge, battery was just down to 93% after a full night 8 hours sleep. Have observed that the SoT is around 3 hours for a 30% drain in battery from 100% to 70%. So must comfortably get 5-6 hours of casual usage without games.

Battery life usually boils down to finding the culprits using the battery.
1. Use Greenify with Shallow Hibernation and Aggressive Doze enabled.
2. For Mi3W, the NFC apks damage the battery life a lot. Rename or Remove the NFC and Tag apks from system folders.
3. Find the battery hoggers such as UC Browser or intrusive Cleanmaster and remove/freeze them whenever they are not used.
4. Change Location settings to use Battery Saving mode and remove Wifi Scanning in the settings.

Hope this helps, First post in XDA :)

How do I rename or remove the NFC and Tag apks? Can you provide some details/guide on how to do this? I feel that the battery performance can be further improved on my phone and I definitely do not need NFC.

1. Open a file explorer that can explore root directory such as ES File Explorer.
2. Navigate to /system/app/NfcNci/, rename or remove the apk file as per your choice.
3. Navigate to /system/priv-app/Tag/, rename or remove the apk file as per your choice.
4. Reboot phone, enjoy :)

Are all the December nightlies on nougat 7.1.1? And how I'd battery life on nougat? On removing NFC and not modifying anything else, how much did your battery life improve?

The FM radio app doesn't produce sound though it is getting the name of the station but there is no sound neither via earphones nor speakers. Anyone else facing this?
Yes, It is old issue, I think starting from CM13 (or may be CM 12.1) with "OK google hotword on" or Google Assistant. If you clear Google app data, sound will work fine.

Can anyone confirm whether the hotspot error bug was fixed in the latest build ?

Nearly stable ROM, eagerly waiting for the snapshot.

Also anyone facing the sudden battery drop after restarting the phone.
