Hi, need some help here. I flash Slim7 Rom into my Oneplus One and decided it was not my liking so I try to flash lineage into my phone and it came out and error when it installs. it says error 7 "this device is ." I think it says it doesn't recognize my One plus as A001 or something and i'm stuck as I can't flash Lineage into my phone. I downloaded the latest nightly version from the lineage official download page. is there something that I missed? or did wrong?

Did you use a tempered glass screen protector? I've experienced those things to be life savers. I've (minorly) cracked two of those on the OPO. Just peeled them off and (gently) slammed on a new one: like new! Last one I got was branded SmarTect, really smooth. I now own Bacon for nearly 4 years and it's still like new. I'm not even using a case or anything.

Lol, a fortnight ago I would have said the same thing. Then it happened on the day I saw an android pie rom. I was so excited but alas.

My first screen protector lasted 3 years, got here before the phone did. Been through three of them in the last year wish I could get the original one I had.

While it is quite possible that a particular app, like Google Maps, triggers "spontaneous" reboots, this would still be a LineageOS defect, because no app has the right to force a reboot.

The operating system should kill any such app and alert the user to its misbehavior, rather than rebooting.

I have also installed today's LineageOS update and will be eagerly watching its behavior. Getting rid of the reboots would be a major improvement (hopefully followed by making the GPS recognize Glonass and Beidou satellites again).

I've been watching it and 2 times it has rebooted I sat in my usual places. 2 bars of wifi and I was on Facebook. WiFi dropped and facebook froze and phone was unresponsive. then black screened and rebooted. Both times it did it at the same spot and the same way. Other times at the spot wifi drops and no reboot. Other times I am driving and the phone is sleeping and reboots. Only way I know is the voicemail notification ding when the phone reboots.

LineageOS 15.1 spontaneous reboots

Yes, it's a pretty terrible defect that I remember to be there since LineageOS 14.1.

Another way to know that your phone has rebooted is to set a PIN. If you are asked to reenter the PIN, and before you do that there is a message on the screen, in the PIN entry field, saying, "PIN required after device restarts", this means that the phone has rebooted.

I cannot tell whether the cause is always related to Wi-Fi. An extensive test with Wi-Fi disabled would show that. But since the reboots happen in all kinds of situations, I doubt that Wi-Fi is the only trigger.

I'm not sure. Hopefully we get updated to the next android version and it fixes a bunch of problems like battery life. I could easily get 2-3 days on 11S and with 14.1 about 2 full days. I get about 11-12 hours on 15.1 same settings. I thought about flashing back to 11S... dont need the features I have so.....

So the battery drain issue persists. I'm still on 14.1 and I'm not planning to upgrade until this is solved.

This last update seems to consume battery for me. I get warnings about Facebook and messenger consuming battery. Before I could go through the day and have roughly 50% battery left on normal usage. Today I barely used my phone and I was at 32% when i got home. I charged my phone to 100% before I updated. An hour after the update I was already down to 86% and I had not done anything. Consumes battery while sleeping.

    F.A.Q.
    • ROOT! ROOT! Give me root or i'll die!!! Where root is???
    • Root has been removed from LineageOS builds, to allow people who are not interested in root access to enjoy apps such as PokemonGo or banking apps. A zip to re-enable root will be provided here. Other packages such as SuperSu, magisk or others are not supported and may cause problems
    • Why no nightly this week?
    • Build failed. Check again in 7 days
    • When do I have to wipe data?
    • You must wipe data only when you're switching from another rom or migrating to Snapshot branch from Nightly and vice versa. You don't need to wipe data when you update in the same release channe (this applies to 13.0 -> 14.1 upgrades too)
    • Will you add <insert awesome feature here>?
    • I won't. If you write it, submit a commit to gerrit, where it will be reviewed.

The LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

"I think what a lot of people forget is that this is not a "make my phone neat & kewl" place.

As implied by the name this is technically a Developers forum/community.

Now what does that mean? Well first off it means that there is an expectation that if you are here then you want to customize your device but rather than just installing something that someone packaged you want to understand how it works and maybe even enhance it yourself.

These days, we have a flood of new users who are asking not "How can I do this myself" but more like "Give me the quick fix" without caring to understand the process. See if you read the threads then you get to experience the learning process, you see how the issues were investigated and confirmed. Then you get to watch the different attempts at resolution and learn why some failed while others worked. That is called Development.

The NooB backlash is coming from users who have walked in the development shoes and is directed mainly at those who don't care for the journey but just want the end result or destination.

As a Development Forum we are just as much (if not more) about the journey. I've read so many comments like "I don't have time to read all of the threads" or "I don't care how it works, just that it does". These very statements are contrary to the heart & soul of XDA-Devs and that is why the backlash is so strong.

Let me be very clear on this: IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT UNDERSTANDING THE JOURNEY THEN YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

XDA-Devs is about developers & hackers helping each other and working together to get the most out of our devices by understanding them better than most.

XDA-Devs is not about helping everyone who wants a "Kewl bit of kit" make their phone better than the guy next to him.

Now do we go kicking users off who never contribute anything, NO. We tolerate it to an extent. Where the toleration ends is when these users start diluting the usefulness of the forum by repeating the same questions over and over again.

You ask the developers/ fellow members to understand your position. Well if you want to benefit from our experience and time then I think it is only fair that you understand our position."

    Steps to get Pixel icons
    • Flash pixel_launcher.zip and then flash pixel_icons.zip, reboot
    • If you don't see round icons yet, navigate to Settings>Apps>Tap three dots at the top right corner>Show system>Pixel Launcher and force stop it>hit home button (if you still don't see it then wipe data and force stop)
*Remember that you should have Pixel Launcher as the default launcher for this to work

    >To just get the Pixel Launcher, flash pixel_launcher.zip only

    >For Pixel-like blue accent, flash pixel_theme.zip

    >For Pixel Navbar with animation, flash pixel_navbar.zip

NOTE: pixel_theme and pixel_navbar are build specific. Do NOT flash it on any build other than the aforementioned one, or else your device will bootloop. Consider yourselves warned!
