No chances at all any more.
Try this unofficial build and tell me ... I can't test on my side!

Download
lineage-14.1-20200111-UNOFFICIAL-cancro.zip ... https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=304180&sort_by=date&sort_dir=DESC
==> with the latest changes of LOS 14.1: https://www.lineageoslog.com/14.1 .... including the December security updates.
Official LOS addon SU (arm): https://download.lineageos.org/extras
Open GAPPs (arm): pico or nano is strongly recommended.
This unofficial build requires a clean flash if you come from the official one.
You can use Migrate app (Migrate - custom ROM migration tool - Google play) for the migration:

Please answer my following questions to comprehend your bootloop troubles:
1. Are you really sure you did everything right? I have to ask you this, because it's very easy to find oneself in a bootloop, if you omit a bagatelle in the whole process...
2. Which device do you have - a cancro Mi 3 or a cancro Mi 4 (that should not really make a difference, but perhaps it could)?
3. What was running on the device before your trial? It's recommended to use the latest MIUI 9-Fastboot-ROM V9.5.7.0.MXDMIFA from the official download site.
4. Did you pick the correct ROM from above on your PC (and not accidentally the wrong one)?
5. Did you flash the latest TWRP (this twrp-3.3.1-0-cancro.img) on the device or did you use another recovery? If you used another one - why did you do so and which one did you use?
6. Did you use OpenGApps? And if yes - did you pick the right ARM32-Package since the SD 801 is an 32-Bit ARMv7-architecture? (I strongly recommend you this ARM32-GApps-Pico-package for installation)
7. Did you wipe Dalvik/Cache twice? - The first time after initilalising TWRP (or any other recovery) an the second time after successful ROM- (and perhaps GApps-) installation before rebooting to the LOS 14.1 ROM?

Landing in a bootloop must not necessarily mean that there's something wrong with the provided ROM. The way Eric compiles his ROMs from official LOS 14.1 sources (without adding any self-made bullshit) it's more unlikely he did something wrong. Aside from that I know one of his ROMs from my zerofltexx (Galaxy S6 non-Edge) and it is working great there.

Note Google dropped support for Android 7.1.2 and didn't release any security updates for Android 7.xx in November/December 2019 and January 2020.
Some reading about Android security patchs: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin

In case of failure, other LOS-based builds:

Non-exhaustive list !

Hi,
I just got my hands on a MI 4LTE-CU, running android 4.4.4 and MIUI 7 5.11.13 beta.
Would someone be so kind to indicate me a step by step guide to update it to that last version of LOS ? I'm affraid to **** it up ^^
Also, there is no macOS tool to fastboot update to the last MIUI ? I tried the local update, but it doesn't work, the process crash at the end of the loading :/
Also, I tried to use Migrate app but I can't find it on google play, probably not available :/
Thanks in advance, any help welcomed !

At first please read my post above and recognize my hints there. Then read this: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/cancro

Then simly follow these Instructions with Erics latest build:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/cancro/install

You can't do anything wrong, when you stick to all that. Feel free to ask here again, if you feel insecure about something. ?
