Hello guys,

One app I want to use is gives me a warning about using custom roms and close itself. I didn't have this issue with HavocOS. Is there any workaround for this issue?

Flash magisk and add the app to the magisk hide list to hide root from it.

Or try one of the android 9 ROMs

I just updated from 20190112 to version 20190221 and I do not have this issue. All working fine, so far.

New question: my Android security patch level is February 5th, 2019, but my Vendor security patch level is June 1, 2018. Using recommended firmware (8.4.19). Can this only be improved by using a newer firmware?

When i long click my home screen, then click wallpaper, my device asks which app i want to launch. Default is wallpapers.

It looks like this app is missing on your device. Maybe it got deleted in a previous version of lineage os, and isn't included in the recent ones, or something? Because it never got deleted on my device, I'm not missing it, but you are...

Maybe dirty flash an older version of lineage, check if you have the app, and then update to the latest version? Or just copy the app from someone ?

HM, to answer my own question, updating firmware doesn't upgrade vendor security. No clue what will ?

This is an config from the device tree (https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...mmit/a215e55d4392c3abba3e032e2b66d8604e71ab25). It is very unlikely that it will get updated soon because our maintainer sold his mi 6 and the trees are temporarily archived basically (no updates since months).

This ROM is the most stable rom ever made for Mi6. Only downside is, it is Oreo. If you don't mind it, Go for it. This is most stable ROM. (Talking about LineageOS 15.1 Official)

But usually how does the rom get updates? I keep seeing this builds things and i don't understand them. Are those the updates? Thanks in advance for the time and answers

I'm sorry, English isn't my first language, I'm having trouble understanding your question.

Please check the first post, it's still adequate, except maybe the version of TWRP. Coming from MIUI, you'll need to FORMAT data, not just wipe.

If you are on latest MIUI then you do not have to flash a lower firmware version
UNLESS: you get a trust zone error when flashing the Rom. Its not likely

Many thanks can I have the lastest magisk and twrp link? Coz already when I unlocked the bootloader I got stuck on the start then I installed magisk over supersu which give me error in the red' which i did noticed...

Honestly you should slow it down a bit then.
Take a min to read more about the process. It is so easy when you know more what to do. Obviously its easier from practice so good to keep trying.
But yeah all you need to do is:

Install twrp from fastboot

Install a ROM

Install gapps

Format data (emphasis on format when you come from MIUI)

Boot

Boot back to TWRP recovery and install magisk

Done

Theme store from MIUI isn't compatible but with root you can use substratum theme engine. Much better.

Magisk is the systemless root solution. Only use magisk

This is the issue I had a few months ago, flashed the 8.4.19 firmware and didn't have an issue since.
