TeamHorizon's XenonHD ROM builds for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4(X) Snapdragon (mido)

XenonHD is a custom firmware aka ROM for various Android devices. It is based on LineageOS 16.0 with additional features, performance and battery life improvements.
The idea behind XenonHD is to give users a ROM that is "blazing fast, rock stable and buttery smooth".​


Flashing Instructions:
To install this ROM you will need to have a latest custom Recovery such as TWRP installed.
  • Copy the downloaded ROM to your phone.
  • Boot into your recovery
  • Back up your ROM
  • Make a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik)
  • Install the ROM
  • Install GAPPS package
  • Reboot - the first boot can take up to 5 minutes
Installing updates:
  • Copy the downloaded update to your phone.
  • Boot into your recovery
  • Back up your ROM
  • Install the update
  • Optionally wipe caches
  • Reboot

WARNING: Starting from April 9 build, this ROM will encrypt your device. If you get stuck in bootloop, it means that your data partition doesn't have 16 kB preserved for crypto footer. Either format your data partition with TWRP linked in OP or flash any zip that removes force encryption. Even if you don't have any issues, make sure you have a working backup in case encryption fails. If you're already encrypted, you don't need any of extra steps mentioned here.

i had to give krasCGQ some thumbs up. so i logged in. thats all i can afford right now. he has done a lot for our beloved mido. thanks a lot man !!!

now some rant... not directed towards anyone in particular

i would love a regularly updated not too clutterred oreo rom. using aex 8.1 for some months. now that is not being updated anymore. pie roms have some naggings issues. signal, bluetooth, volte or maybe sim selection, network locking, sim turn off option not working or missing... and a lot of other small things that hurt peace of mind (i must check for OCD lol). i also hate the performance profile selections of los and derived roms. i would like to do my own or would use spectrum. thats why i love clean roms.

by the way, what is the security patch date of this rom ?? does sim turn off and network/band locking manual mode work in it??

Hey @krasCGQ I tried to install with encrypted data, and says that password was correct but data was damaged. But isn't true, I inmediatly rebooted to TWRP and was able to see my files.

I currently use SDM blobs from payton to resolve screen blinking issues with CAF's Pie display tag, at least until Pie firmware for devices with similar SoC with us start to pop up.

    January 6 build with December 5 security patch is up.

    This build is based on rebased device tree (common tree from Flex1911 but adjusted for 3.18/4.9 kernel compatibilty with my changes) and kernel (reworked defconfig and upstreamed up to Linux 3.18.131 and CAF LA.UM.7.5.r1-04000-8x96.0), so clean flash is recommended to prevent any unintended issues.

    Build is permissive as camera doesn't work with enforcing right now, but well let's have a working build at least. Stock mido blobs (most?) are updated to MIUI Developer 8.11.8, so it's recommended to be on 8.11.8 firmware or newer (but it's up to you anyway). Kernel is still compiled with GCC 4.9, but source should be buildable and bootable with Clang.

    PSS: I'll write short changelog later as I probably forgot things changed since last build announcement (lol). Done. I just skipped the 2 December build changelog LMAO..
