Anyone having black screen of death issues where your device become unresponsive ?

Had like 5 of them since I installed it yesterday.
First two times were when my google account was being restored (Google Play downloading and installing something like 1xx apps), so I was "ok, it's intensive, maybe it's too hot or whatnot".
But it happened a few time for no reasons, like my phone not being used in my pocket and when checking it, black screen, not waking up, not hot at all, having to do a hard reboot (10 sec or more on the power button).

Using stock ROM and Kernel, TWRP 3.3.0-1, encrypted and unlocked bootloader, updated from stock 8 to stock 9.0.2 using the guide from Rafeh mentioned in this thread to not lose internal data.
I'm seriously considering rolling back, or retrying with a full wipe

No. But I was earlier on CB 1 of OOS, encrypted, unlocked bootloader, Magisk with TWRP 3.2.3-10.

The ROM doesn't have issues, it is the method adopted for flashing and may be the TWRP version used for flashing.

I've updated my TWRP from 2.0 to 3.3.1-1 by using the adb recovery.
After that i used the TWRP v. 3.3.1-1 to install the newest Update to get Android 9 finaly.
My Phone was unable to update with twrp v.2.0
After that i restarted my phone and he shows me: "encryption unsuccsesful" and that i have to do a factory reset.
But if i factory reset my OP3 i will lost each Media File on my Phone!
Now if i try to go back to the TWRP he shows me the version 2 again!? wtf?

Can somebody please tell me how can i safe my files from the phone in my PC our
how can i fix the problem without a factory reset?

I could try to install the Update again but i cant find the file online :(

I wanted to do a factory reset and install this update via adb sideload but I'm getting "installation failed" message after sideload finishes. I'm on stock everything but unlocked bootloader and already did a full factory reset. I relocked the bootloader and tried sideloading again and it installed fine. I will complete the first boot process and unlock it again.

You must try with full wipe. I came from Skydragon OS. Now completely stock , wiped internal storage with locked bootloader, have no such issues you mentioned. Infact stock rom feels so smooth and good battery life. For some reasonI feel my wifi connection/speed has improved with this Stock Pie build.

Ok, so I tried a full wipe, didn't have black screen / hanging issues. ;)

But for some reason the google account restore didn't work completely (maybe because it synchronized stuff from the dirty PIE already).
I missed some apps / system data in my Titanium backups, so I was like "Let's give it another try next weekend and go back to the Oreo TWRP backup in the meantime".

Naively restored the nandroid backup (which contained /boot, /system, /data, /recovery, even /efs) hoping that would be it.
==> Wasn't able to boot upon completion, stuck on "Powered by Android screen"
Could it be because the boot image was patched by magisk at the time of the TWRP backup ?

Panic mode engaged, I flashed the Oreo update zip that was still on the phone.
==> Was able to start from scratch, had the "encrypted corrupted data" message asking for factory reset and internal storage wipe.

Transfered my TWRP backup on the phone again, and tried to restore only /system and /data
==> Unable to boot system, automatically goes to bootloader mode.
At that point it was 3am in the morning, and I had to woke up at 8 :silly:

Sideloaded the Oreo zip update (cause it was not on the phone anymore due to the wipe), then transfered the TWRP backup and only restored /data partition.
==> Was able to boot finally :)
But lockscreen says my pattern was wrong
Had to delete data/system/locksettings.db files to get through :victory:

TLDR :
Why was the Oreo TWRP backup not working in the first place (coming from Pie) ?
Did I do something wrong (I'd like to know) ?
Or is latest TWRP / Magisk modified boot.img / something else to blame ?

anyone facing any issue with Vodafone VoLTE after updating to stable pie. Earlier it was working fine on Oreo.
VoLTE working fine on Jio hence flag provisioning could not be an issue.

Any suggestion is welcome!!

Nobody here who knows a tool to restore my files?
No sorry. Prevention and backup only. It would be a serious security flaw if you could steal a phone, factory reset it to be able to boot and finally recover data with a simple piece of software....

Try looking for Diskdigger on the PlayStore, I think it can be useful, of course this is not a miracle, but it's better than loosing all your photos, music or archives, like happened to me when I installed the pie open beta [emoji849]

Anyone facing issue with the alert slider?? After upgrading to latest stable Pie, I'm seeing that once the alert slider is moved in any direction, it is going to silent mode and then the alert slider won't work at all. Now, I am unable to get out of silent mode. Any help guys???

P.S. Magically sometimes it comes of silent mode but the issue repeats when I use the alert slider.

Having no problems here, backup your important stuff and do a factory reset, it the problem persists, unroot, relock bootloader and install stock rom.

I have a few legit questions that might be quite simple:
1. Should I wait for the official ROM stable ROM from the OnePlus site downloads? Or can I get it from here, I'm having trouble finding it?
2. I have open beta 39 so most likely I won't get the OTA?
3. Can I download the update, (like from here) then wipe data and clean flash in twrp bluspark?
And if so what's the way round this encryption issue I've been hearing. My bootloader is obviously unlocked.
4. There was a guide somewhere round here on how to do it but for some reason I can't find it now.

Thanks for the help.
