Hi there. I ran into the exact same issue Tremolo 4 stated updating from v3 to v4 and not being able to boot the system anymore. Apart from a clean flash is there any possible idea to revert the change coming from the recovery update? Same as Tremolo4 I did not update the system image (was on 19.1 before) and only flashed the new recovery version. This must have had some effect on the data partition or the table. I attached a log from LOS Recovery indicating issues with the data partition. I am very thankful for any help here.

According to my research the only way to decrypt LineageOS 19 / A12 FDE data is the system itself. No recovery that I know supports it. Official TWRP only supports FDE up to and including LineageOS 18.1 / A11.

I'm very sorry that my warning about REIGNZ recovery silently corrupting FDE data did not reach you in time.

I found no way to recover the data. Instead I did a clean install and restored from an older backup.

Did you really only flash the recovery or did you also attempt to decrypt your data in TWRP (and received the incorrect password message)? I'm wondering if just flashing the recovery causes corruption (I don't see how that's possible) or you need to try to decrypt data. Or maybe just booting it is enough to trigger the issue.

There is a new official TWRP build for our device, v3.7.0.

Since it's still based on the Android 9 branch, I suspect it still won't support FBE decryption for A12+. However, it may yet fix FDE decryption on A12; there is one entry in the changelog that sounds relevant. Sadly, I've lost the ability to test that.

Interestingly, the Android 12 branch changelog lists "FDE compatibility".

Since there is no official maintainer anymore, there might be some obvious bugs, who knows. I do not plan on testing it, just wanted to notify people here.

How close to the Android default encryption are devices from Poco? With the OEM Rom Android 12 isn't a problem for me yet. Still encryption support would be nice for all versions of Android. Some manufacturers run their own version, require interaction with blobs and very often a device maintainer just skips it

yes already try the a12 twrp and still no improvement
i think either the twrp is not the system_ext version or not you did something wrong in the process.
try following this guide in the "CLEAN INSTALL CUSTOM ROM" section

Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. It's a full touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

TWRP built for the Poco/Pocophone F1. It should work fine, but using it is a try at your own risk procedure. Your bootloader must be unlocked to use this recovery. Fastboot mode is used to flash or boot this recovery.

    Flash through twrp or fastboot

    To temporarily boot this recovery:
    Code:

    fastboot boot twrp*.img

    To permanently flash it:
    Code:

    fastboot flash recovery twrp*.img

Finally @REIGNZ3 fixed encryption/decryption of latest TWRP 3.6.2.
You can get it here or in my AFH mirror. You can also find it in my collection.
    Notes:
    • If you're using system_ext roms, use the system_ext version otherwise, use the non system_ext (NSE) version.
    • It is currently in beta, so please report any bugs if you notice.
    Bugs:
    • There is no system partition in Wipe section. Dev looking at it.
    • "Cannot mount the vendor" error message. Fixed in next build

I tested it on crDroid and working fine. -OTA on crDroid also worked fine-
Again many thanks to the Hall of Fame Developer @REIGNZ3.

Hi, TWRP has already been updated to version 3.6.2_9-0 this month for our F1.

I have read that there are already mobiles that are already able to decrypt A12 memory with password. For example, the GT Neo 2. Please could you update our TWRP so that it can read the encrypted A12 memory?

Decryption does not work for me, even with this version. Same error as with official TWRP: "Failed to decrypt data". Maybe FDE is not supported, only FBE? Can anyone confirm?
only support for A12 use old recovery if u wanna use encryption for A11
