Thanks for the smoothest A12 rom that i've tried so far. But mic doesn't work on Google Duo and sometimes on Whatsapp.. I tried to disable google assistant but no luck. Other hardware works superb. @Hotorou

1. 2022-05-05 UPDATE boot loops.
I flashed the 2022-05-05 update yesterday following the advise for flashing updates in the OP, and it blew my phone to pieces.
  • Boot loop.
  • Pressing POWER+VOL UP to go to recovery opens not TWRP but an unknown recovery which carries the logo of LineageOS. It asks to apply the update and reflash.
  • After that, bootloop again.
  • I understand you need the logs to make sense of this however I am at a loss. The phone when booting to recovery does not boot to TWRP but to simpler-looking recovery which looks like LineageOS. This recovery has produced a file /tmp/recovery.log which you can inspect on-screen. However you cannot copy it to PC per ADB; ADB is nominally activated however, unlike with TWRP, the phone is not accessible from PC (I am using Total Commander's ADB plugin, which has served me well up till this). And there is no control in the recovery enabling to copy the log file to the external SDCard. No file manager like in TWRP.
Any help?

P.S.
Prior to my flashing of the full update, DerpFest had been notifying about an update (obviously meaning an OTA update) being available and ready to download, however on pressing the respective buttons nothing happens. This seems to be consistent with your announcement that the 2022-05-05 update had been planned as an OTA update, however it was released as a full ROM for lack of time. DerpFest likely knew of an update being available however it did not know how to handle a full ROM update.

2. Issues with v2022-02-26-1634 (version used -with success- before the fateful update).
As nearly everyone here has reported DerpFest-12L for daisy is a fantastic and, all things considered, very smooth & stable ROM. However, my impressions are tainted by two shortcomings, the first ---if it can be attributed to DerpFest--- a serious defect, the second a minor and fixable inconvenience:
  1. 3-dot menu does not activate Settings. Several apps, including among many WhatsApp and Google Contacts, fail to open their settings window when touching the 3-dot menu item. It is as if the screen had lost its touching sensitivity, however this isn't the case as other apps don't display this issue. (Google Dialer for example has no issue; Google Contacts has.)
  2. Inclusion of GApps beyond the absolutely necessary to access Google services/accounts results in bloat. Even though the GApps included with DerpFest are not particularly bloated, yet there is still some bloat compared to what would obtain if you left users choose to install their choice of slimmed-down GApps (e.g., BiTGApps-arm64).

Re: 2022-05-05 UPDATE (flashed as advised in OP) causes boot loops.

Find attached kernel and recovery logs.
<Sorry, cannot attach files. Don't know why. I did send them in the MI A2 LITE DISCUSSION channel in Telegram, find them there.>

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite
Pretty stable so far. Currently using it as a daily driver, sometimes crashes but it's probably something to deal with a 5-year-old phone.
Some bugs are:
  • I got this notification frequently. This is from Google Play services and i have no way of opening it (clicking on the notification does nothing).
    SUYNnevcg_PHfnQidxIYsCUI8qGIRoKcjpl7lM-lVZs_GERHCZ1bKg-0vme6VZqBAPVshgymyOgW4nVB-vvqLaoyWXvE07J1gwi8unPgQxjpgEDALicUms667PH-iihdCder-F3XYhHmVS4TFWADc9wiOiy2ZUa-3h07bHAXTD2mbPAPr-oJ980xpJbNg1kDELWbTw2AeDoaIUrZn_r9WloxB_TopOof0TmpkT_tg4zbQBZx_IyFyhIwUU4qqQtoBNofz7vRzRyimVLmt_R3ZkF8LrBpE1fifxrJWyTjSDfaUJt0bF82qytK7HXPAJBtD-6LGKpkqh-eDtO4DHk8OgSZbfw-AGcabPDlbaosFgOW8tbxmANoci_TaxnVRcjVYWuF-Nzw8pMp7Sj8_BFhPHa0Dt8NtlH4DljF-k93UxsyjkfuVlUyGzNwXO1_X9c0LctAcECL5bMD0OeDjk2wjLUfCPe4w2BBwyv6sQtinDk6i71dUgAXqu9wNrSgp7a5DiCdr7OUYOT0sg8zK9AkLuVMNtepq-8_Iilvp2GAAs_l6YTczxqF0W2B8eOYVgZ6NXJjPpawYkh6rjr7ulFzrdiTpuRRDcHMmOskKeeY0J_2yCwnZNR-fr28lpWNByBXYKmAFzGa7GW1Rpm8uv8BZrS0WAX-YsFxZiYzW68C6LE11BxgJDkJiJ7ndi8pLmQReFyULsNRMAQ-Z-hN--ofjaZgaW2lnTwaM7QpBTRBQ39QqvC31Hvx7IzXZvw=w835-h635-no
  • Can't enable Home location in Smart Lock. Option to "Turn on this location" also does nothing. Adding pin manually works though.
  • Very basic GCam
  • Sometimes it lags so much or even crashes completely, but again probably something that every 5-year-old budget phone user has to deal with.
Other than that, 100% completely usable ROM. Best one so far. Nice job, definetly waiting for the next update 👌

After a day of use: Great 12L ROM so far.
Without lag/bug in Instagram.
Let's see the battery performance after a few more days.

Camera PX works great too.
One thing that is different about DerpFest from all other ROMs is that I have to restart my phone every 2-3 days because of the messy ram management of MI A2 lite
But on other ROMs, it took at most one day for me to have to restart the phone to start to work normally.

Great ram management with DerpFest 12L

This rom has overclocked kernel, and it goes either highest or the lowest frequency. Had to use a kernel manager to limit the frequency to 2016 MHz, otherwise the phone heats up quickly. A few of the customization options (such as icon shapes and colors) will be missing when compared to android 10 roms. But this one has its own sweet theming options to compensate. Network indicator only shows download speed.
thanks, sir for your compliment. Hope you like the ROM. you can change the kernel as you like, but I used revvz and it gave me ok performance.
