You need to wipe data, cache, system. (If coming from a stock based ROM you actually need to format data). Then install ROM and gapps in that order without booting in between.

I suspect you are trying to install gapps after booting (or not wiping the data partition).

Regards,
Danny

Guys the problem was the G Apps packages. The latest build that I downloaded, jsut dont installed Google Play Services for any reason. I tried with another build and it worked.

Is there a way to force PIN request if you want to turn off WIFI or Mobile Data durin the device is locked?
Makes no sense to me that everyone can theoretically turn off functions like GPS, WIFI and Mobile Data while the device is locked.

No. But anyone can power off your phone? Essentially disabling all of those at once.

I really don't understand the need to have any of those behind a pin code (that is also the consensus of the LineageOS dev team as well).

Is this not a high security risk then? I mean for what a PIN exists then? XD

Sure, it is very high risk that someone could turn off your WiFi.
That is always my biggest worry. :ROFLMAO:
Sure bud, do you have some problems to follow a conversation or something?
You talked about "Everyone can turn off your device and disable those at once".
Now Im talkin about why the **** is there no PIN query if someone try to tunr off the device?
Dont you think that this makes no sense?

If someone wants your data and has physical access to your device your only protection from them getting your data is by encrypting it (the device supports FDE, enable that in the security settings).

An attacker can always power it off or force a reboot (force reboot is a hardware key combo which you cannot disable), there is literally nothing you can do to stop that and as you have an unlocked bootloader they can flash whatever they like.

Passkey protecting WiFi/Power/etc really won't help.

Either encyrpt your data or go back to stock (and do the same there).

Kind regards,
Danny

Agreed but why should I make it for an person even easyier to get access to my data?

Or imagine the situation of people who dont want to steal your device, they jsut want to **** you off so they disabling your WIFI or Mobile Data or even turn your device off even if its locked. Yeye I know, they also can force the device to turn off but there are no all nerds in this genre. For me personally it would be better if lineage had this stuff build in for more "light security".
Is there no app or even magisk addon that can do those fine tunings?

And the case with encryption. Do encryption impact the performance a lot of this device? I only do office stuff on this phone like messaging. And sometimes music **** and stuff.

It is hardware backed so there should be no performance impact. I certainly never saw one when I ran my A3 encrypted on LineagsOS.

It is not "security" at all, just don't let people you don't trust touch your device.

If you want to add the feature LineageOS is open for public changes. Just write a patch and submit it to gerrit for review.

Kind regards,
Danny

I have a question, my Samsung a3 2016 still able to open TWRP recovery, download mode, but when I re-installed lineage it was successful but couldn't boot into the system. Is this a hardware problem? I tried to flash with stock rom with Odin but never success, I still use this cellphone as a secondary phone

Yes. Smells like hardware issue. Did you try to do a factory reset after flashing lineageOS?

Have you tried a factory reset? (Wipe data/cache/system and reinstall)

Hi Guys,

first of all thank you for bringing this cool rom for the good old a3 (2016)
I have been successful with installing the rom.
What i did:
- OEM activated
- usb debugging activated
- TWRP installed
- followed the above instructions.

Installation went smooth and the first start with android 10 was absolutely cool.

But: When is restarted the phone, I refused to boot. It said that it is blocked because of FRP.

I installed the original rom and tryed again, played it save with OEM and Debugging. But the error accured again.

Any idea what went wrong?

Thank you very much for helping me out!

Some issue with GApps? Was there a Google account on your phone before oem unlock?

Yes, I think that was the way. There was a Google account, but I erased it (factory reset).
What should I do? The samsung original rom is now installed but I have not logged in on the phone.
Should I try out now? (but then USB debugging and OEM unlock is not active...)
Thanks again.

That's nothing i usually do. But maybe you should setup the phone with the original Google account. Next remove Google account and oem unlock.

That was the way i did before. When i start the device now it will tell me that i have to declaire that i am the owner. After doing so, i can use it again with the org. google account.
Then I did OEM unlock and removed the google account.

I will try again. Maybe it is not working properly because it is a kid's account with family link? Although I used family link to unlock developer options and remove the googe account. The message in family link was like that i could give the phone to someonelese now.

I am a bit confused.

Is there a way to turn off the FRP? I thought i was doing so by unlocking OEM.
Maybe: After removing the account OEM is active again? Because it is the usual setting?

Thanks again folks and greets
Jive

    Introduction

LineageOS 17.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10.0, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. The port for the Exynos7580 based devices was created by @Stricted and I along with many contributions from other people in the Android community.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    What works
    Calls, SMS, Mobile Data
    Camera
    NFC
    WiFi
    Bluetooth
    Torch
    Sensors
    GPS
    SELinux Enforcing
    HWC
    What doesn't work
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.
WiFi tether (hotspot) not functional (fixed in 21/01/2020 release)
HD headsets in call not working (fixed in 21/01/2020 release)
NFC HCE (GooglePay etc) fixed in 07/03/2020 release
    You tell me!
There are still quite a few features that are not yet completed for LineageOS 17.1, these are not bugs this is a beta release.
Any hardware related issues will be ignored if you do not provide:
    a) Logcat
    b) proc/last_kmsg
    c) data/tombstones
    d) dmesg

Also do not under any circumstances post bug reports if you are using substratum themes or unsupported magisk modules or you have performed any system modifications

    Installation
Install the latest TWRP (Available Here)
Make a full backup (just in case something goes wrong)
Do a full wipe (Cache, Data, System)
If this is your first time on a LineageOS ROM format data
Download the latest LOS build and transfer it to your phone
    Install LOS
If you are installing GApps do it at the same time (preferably in the same install queue)
And finally boot, the first boot can take several minutes as it optimises all the apps
Do NOT install the TWRP app when prompted, this will cause a bootloop

To update to the new official builds I have updated my migration zip with the new keys for official 17.1.

It is available here (obviously use the 17.1 version):
    https://mega.nz/folder/rUxWBKQT#0j0324DVoZi62fT7mpwHlw

I would advise you to use the lineage recovery if you do not use the extra features of TWRP as it is more up to date.
