Official Android 7.1.1 Download and How to Install

Written Guide

Download OTA ZIP- https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-9vIY9eZnVqY3BGM0NUdTdsclE

Download ADB- https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-9vIY9eZnVqc25sU3BuRHRabkE

Steps:

Install ADB on your PC | Copy OTA ZIP to Installation directory
Boot your Moto Z Play to Fastboot > Recovery > again to Stock Recovery (Above video will help)
Select Apply update through ADB
Open ADB on your PC
Connect your device

adb sideload Blur_Version.26.1.22.addison.retail.en.US.zip

Press enter and it will start. This will take around 30 mins!

Reflashed 7.0 Jan 1, sideloaded Apr OTA, reflashed TWRP, now I'm stuck. The Apr patch did not have a full recovery img, but did update the recovery. Anyone have a stock recovery img from the Apr patch?

Edit: Reflashed Jan 1 image, reinstalled Apr OTA, still no luck. Getting the following error message:
Verifying current system...
E3002: Package expects build thumbprint of 7.1.1/NPN26.107/202:user/release-keys or 7.0/NPNS25.137-24-1-9/10:user/release-keys; this device has 7.0/NPNS25.137-24-1-4/5:user/release-keys.
E:Error in /sideload/package.zip

I do, but after reflashing Magisk, it's back to N/A. I flashed timster01's 7.0 rom, then flashed the OTA for 7.1.1 and it worked! I've now got a newer security patch than a friend's band new unlocked S8+ on my year old midrange phone. Nice job, Motorola!

Edit: update also fixed the notification bug, finally!

Are you rooted as well? Want to root but does f2fx fix Kernel work on 7.1.1 .. that's the concern

Yes I'm rooted on Magisk. The f2fs kernel seems to work just fine on 7.1.1.

Which notification bug?

Go to settings, sounds, and try playing any of the notification sounds. They will be buggy and won't play. That's true when you have notifications on as well, notification sounds haven't worked reliably on 7.0.

You don't need the f2fs kernel fix, just flash Magisk and you'll be rooted.

If you do what I did above, you can. Don't even have to wipe data.

We need the blank-flash file, as long as no BL fix the phone will stuck with white leds only.
Is it possible to extract the blank-flash file from the rom image?

Also, thank you for providing the OTA. I haven't installed it and don't know if I will, the reason being future updates. Will my Z Play receive security updates on 7.1.1 since it hasn't been released outside of the soak tests?

Yes, you will continue to receive the OTA update through the system as normal.
