asked Samsung about 4.4.2. given recent announcements in US and Poland. Their response:

Regarding your query please be advised that there is currently no
official release date for a newer firmware version for your product. We
unfortunately have no confirmation on which devices will and will not be
updated.
You can check for available updates for your device on its support page
on our website or by connecting to Samsung KIES.
You can also get the latest news on software releases for our devices on
the official Samsung UK Facebook page (facebook.com/SamsungUK) or our
Twitter feed (twitter.com/SamsungUK).

god forbid there's any solid info out there for the UK market and more specifically the S4 Mini. Technology is seriously lagging here like the country IS stuck in the dark ages.

If Samsung updated the primitive UI, I'd consider coming back to stock.
Google and Samsung just signed a deal to stop Samsung modifying Android ASOP so much so maybe they'll work on the UI.

when official 4.4 is available can we just have a generic rom here which we can install?

will the official 4.4 also make a stable CM rom as now we just have Nightly rom updates.??

What do you mean by generic rom?

There will probably cm11 stable before the official KK update :D

by generic i mean not career locked or country specific but an international ROM which could be installed on any phone without any issues.
I prefer the GBU firmwares. They are from Uk but basically, they are international.
