You always need the stock recovery installed. Also, having root i.e. having modified system files might cause the update process to cancel halfway through, so it's also always advisable to unroot before updating.

How to do this? Could you explain details? Which programs and etc

Hello, I am new to Huawei and want to upgrade my phone to Lollipop. The build version is V100R001C00B120SP04. Can I upgrade directly to Lollipop B324? Or do I need to perform any extra steps. I see someone has posted a question regarding the same firmware, but they did not really get an answer and I am not trying to take any risks. Thanks.

You can just flash the B324 rom manualy in local update, there is no risk because if for some reason (that i don`t think of) the update shouldn`t install there is no harm done to your device.

Hey hadiup! Yes, you can directly upgrade from B120SP04 to B324.

To upgrade, follow these steps:
1. Download B324, refer to the first post on this thread
2. Extract 'dload' folder and paste it to your phone's internal storage root
3. Go to Settings -> Updater -> Local update. Your phone should be able to detect the update
4. Update your phone and reboot

NOTE: If you encounter bugs and want to downgrade your phone back to B120SP04, follow these steps:
1. Download B120SP04 from CarbonTesla (just google CarbonTesla Mate 7 B120SP04)
2. Download B300 Transition Package
3. Extract B300 'dload' folder and paste it on your phone's internal storage root
4. Go to Settings ->Updater -> Local update. Your phone should be able to detect the update
5. Update and reboot. Check your phone's version. It must be on B300.
6. Delete B300 'dlaod' folder and paste B120SP04 'dload' folder to your internal storage root
7. Go to Settings -> Updater -> Local update. Your phone should detect the update.
8. Update your phone and reboot. Your phone should be back to B120SP04

Hope this helps!

You need to get the stock recovery image for your version. You could search this thread, maybe someone posted it. Otherwise try and find the B120SP04 firmware from the huawei website for your country/model and download it, and also download the HuaweiUpdateExtractor app and use this app to extract the recovery.img file from the B120SP04 UPDATE.APP file, then flash the recovery.img file using ADB.

I dont think you need to completely unroot your phone, you just need stock recovery. My phone was also rooted. I just flashed stock recovery, then was able to update my phone.

How to disable auto clear cache?

Successfully updated to lollipop on my TL10. However there is one issue, each time I open the web browser (integrated one) and if I do the kill all apps action, when I re-open the web browser all the pages that I viewed previously gone. I think it's been set to auto clear cache. However I can't find where to disable it. It didn't happen when it's in KitKat. Anyone has this problem too? How to disable the auto clear cache function?

Not sure. I went straight from 324 to 326 without any issue. I think 300 is a rollback firmware only, so not sure if you can "go forward" so to speak.

Thanks. I think I'll check it out. Just downgraded to B300 from B324 just to get my motion gestures back. Unfortunately there's still no Huawei Swype keyboard and fingerprint gestures are still a bit buggy. I do hope B326 addresses those issues?

Hello. I have the 2GB variant (MT7-TL09) and my phone is still on kitkat version CB00143. I understand Huawei has been releasing software updates to lollipop for different regions but wanted to know if anyone has any idea as to when the 143 kitkat variant might be updated and if I could update to lollipop using the already available lollipop updates? My phone is not rooted and is on stock recovery.

When I installed 326, my Huawei keyboard was back, so worth checking it out for that. Unfortunately my fingerprint gestures still dont work though. Am thinking of maybe reverting back to KK, doing a factory reset, then doing a nice clean install of 326, but for now 326 runs smoothly.

Just download B327 and flash it via local update.

I doubt it, did a FR myself after flashing B324 and that caused no issues and its fast as a bullet.
Maybe you got lucky. For most people factory reset on B324 fails during reset and reboots like stock Android (Not emui interface).
Also a lot of people have complained of one bug or another after a factory reset
