Not disagreeing with you at all, this experience with BB has been frustrating, particularly their lack of communication, but... FYI, the $50 you get is when you pick up the phone...not up front.

Oh yeah, I think I read something earlier about Phone Freedom or something. Is that what you're referring to? Is that something I need to sign up for first? If so, how and what is it?

The reason I care now, is that Wirefly doesn't have the phone in white. And the only way my wife would agree to switch over to Sprint (She's on Verizon now and hated Sprint when she had them before...) is if I promised to get her this phone in white. So I guess it's either BB, or wait til wirefly DOES get it, which the lady on the phone said is completely up in the air.

Just called my local bestbuy (Encino, Ca) even though I ordered Online and was told they have no idea about incoming shipments and are being told all carriers are being pushed back to the 28th.

At this point im better off canceling and going with Wirefly if Im going to wait. Ill save $50 and the activation fee.

But then Id have to sell off my bestbuy gift card that I used to buy phones plus wifey wants the white one. Ahh im better off waiting lol

Just got off the phone with my local (Johnson City, Tn) Best Bendover rep and he says they have received a internal email stating that all of the AT&T preorders are being shipped. The only thing he could say for certain is that the Sprint preorders are delayed. REALLY? He said try calling back in the morning with a possible update. I told him I was thoroughly disgusted with the total lack of communication from Samsung, Sprint and BB for not being honest with their customers on this matter. Not calling Mom when you was suppose to be home at 11 and showing up at 4 will get your a$$ beat.

Sprint charges you an activation fee, right now wirefly has a promotion where they will waive it off.

Just called the NH store. She first asked which carrier when I told her Sprint she said that they're supposed to get them in tonight to be ready for tomorrow. Said they would call me to setup a time.

Phone Freedom was something different. You had to sign up in February. This is another promotion they introduced for Evo LTE pre-orders, and then kept it going even now (see here), and then also offered it, to me at least, for the GS3 pre-order.

Best buy doesn't have the power to waive the activation fee. They could possibly call sprint and try and get it waived but they themselves don't have the power.

My bb online receipt shows one time activation free from Sprint so I'm just going by what was sent to me.

I preordered mine from BB yesterday. The rep there said a Sprint rep had come in earlier today and he got to play with the phone and, of course, said it was amazing. He also said that they were delaying them til the 28th...

That was at the BB in Clearwater, FL. The receipt for the "preorder" gift card says I can return it for a refund, so i'm gonna go ahead and return it and order it on wirefly instead and save $50.

I feel ashamed for going to BB to begin with. I went there because I thought I had read on one of the forums that they were giving a $50 gift card if you order the phone there. Then when it was all said and done and I was sitting in my car, I realized I wasn't getting that all... or even getting waived activation fee.

That's what I get.

Bummer, I have a $50 GC in my car that I was handed when I pre-ordered which I will use when I pick the phone up. My status: no e-mail and I haven't called them to check on it. Doesn't sound like anyone knows what the hell they're doing anyway...

I've called my local BB 4 times today and I've spoke with 4 different people...They have each told me that they did not have any in but that Sprint is shipping them to their store overnight and I should be able to get my preorder tomorrow. Also of note is that each asked me first off if I had preordered the phone before they told me that info...I'm sure if I had said no then they would have told me the official release has been delayed to next week...Here's to hoping I get it tomorrow...:good:
