CyanogenMod is a free, community built distribution of Android which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
Current known issues:
NFC - NFC is in a working state. There is however a small workaround for turning it on. First, try to toggle it on. It may fail. Reboot. Then it should be on. If not, attempt to toggle it on again. It also appears the HAL is not reporting correctly to the service and a NFC Wakelock may occur if you toggle nfc off. What's that mean to you? Basically, I recommend you leave NFC on. In my testing there is no real impact to battery life.
As for installing, must be using the latest version of TWRP or CWR for the device. You can get TWRP for the qualcomm-based Note 4s here. Installing will require either Odin or Heimdall and should be a familiar process to Samsung users. (For now, we'll not provide extensive instructions for this. You can help each other....) Similarly, we'll leave it up to you for finding your own preferred GAPPS.
Then it's a simple matter of downloading the .zip, putting it on the SDcard, and flashing away. Don't forget that you must perform a Factory reset if coming from a different ROM.
Backups are your problem not mine. If you don't back up, and it bootloops, not my issue. This is highly experimental software.
Just for clarification, myself and fattire are NOT paid employees of Cyanogen INC. It is our hobby, our free time, dedicated to make this work.

Be sure to check out the wiki (T-Mobile and Sprint pages) for more in-depth information about CM-12 on the Note 4. See this page about known issues, tips, and such.
And finally, remember-- you don't have to brush all your teeth after every meal. Just the ones you want to keep.
