@linuxxxx some people happens the same issue, without gapps。。。
Same here with MI4W, I've flashed it several times already but could go beyond the boot animation and my device got hot AF, every time I waited for more than half an hour to see the result, hmmm.....nothing really happened.

Not able to get root access without supersu

@linuxxxx said: First of all do not flash any supersu/superuser/superman zip package to get root. Go to Settings>Developement Settings>Root acces > Apps Only
I did not find this setting. Sorry to ask this silly question but I tried searching this out on internet but didn't find any solution. All I see is gaining root access using supersu package and @linuxxxx clearly stated not to use this method to root. I am using the latest miui 6.6.3.0 (stable India version) on mu mi 3w and have developer options unlocked. Please guide as how should I root the device to flash this ROM.
Thanks

There are guides to install recovery, rom in general and Q/A section .For root install cyanogenmod and then enable root in developer mode.

OK, guys frist of all stop with "not booting ", I got it . I will give a look at this asap, I hope I can fix this for tomorrow build, even if I don't have much time today. I'm compiling a build ATM on my PC so I can check if the issue is some my mistake or it's Jenkins'. Will update this post when I will have sth to tell u

Edit 1: it looks like we were much lucky xd. There may have been problems with not device-related stuffs. From my PC using local sources from 19 august but with device tree + kernel + blobs updated to the current sources on cm it boots fine. Now I'm downloading the official build and will find out what's wrong.

Edit 2: ok, there should have been some change to consuerIR, and that makes boot fail, will try to fix this asap, but the odd thing is that's ok from my pc... :/

Edit 3: fixed, ihope ill be able to merge it before tomorrow ;)

Edit 4: merged, also definitively fixed no sim

nope, just keep using TWRP.
I fond something strange is that the official TWRP recovery 2.8.7 looks like got no function about repartition.

And the more popular CWM recovery got this function.

I tested it when try to merge system and system1 to 1.2G. And I got no idea weather the CM recoery has this function...

filename: Repartition_MI3W_1_2GB.zip if's required.
CWM 6.5.1 work all right
TWRP 2.8.7 no action
CM recovery, MD5 fail

No. I did not install the ROM yet. I thought that I need to first root the device to install the ROM. I am a noob and have never flashed a ROM before. Sorry for the confusion.
No worries. Rooting before isn't required though, if you already have managed to install custom recovery. The basics are: take a backup; wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache; install the packages you want (ROM, Gapps, etc).

So the current nightly is not safe to use?

Will I be able to go from Bitti's ROM to the official CM? Or do I have to start from scratch?
