You have to enable Developer Options, and authorize root for applications : that should do the magic !

Anyone here facing slow charging when switching battery mode to efficiency?
Just to be sure, you charge using a USB port or on sector ?
It's always slow for me with USB (which is fine), and ok on sector (though noticeably slower than MIUI ROM)

my phone doesnt seem to charge while its turned off. no LED light
it just goes to the usual charging off stage when you see the battery icon.
then after the screen turns off, theres no LED indicator. and no response from the phone
and i need to turn the phone off for the charging to continue.

I don't know what you mean by sector, but I'm using an original charger and the Ampere app says max input is 220mAH. Strangely this is only happen when I'm using efficiency battery mode.

Important update

From the coming days you might not be able to upgrade your cm installation anymore, because
you are running CM on the old KitKat baseband / partition layouts.
I've deprecated support for these old stuffs in order to give better support (because of
better system compatibility with newer baseband) and to be able to
ship features such as Live wallpapers, a working CMFM, Gello (once it'll be avaiable) and other minor things.

If you are still using Kitkat partition layouts / baseband I strongly suggest you to upgrade:
Visit http://bit.ly/cancroCMBaseband to know how to easily
update to mm layout / baseband without wiping your user data (you'll just need to re flash CM zip and gapps because
system partitions will be erased and "merged").

I hope you understand the reasons behind this important change.

Hmmm how about people who used extended 1.2gb partition sizes? The zip that audahadi created to make one partition 1.2gb, the other only around 60mb. Is this method suitable for it? As quite many people are still on it since the early 2015 custom ROM days.

Hi linuxxxx, a little question here!!
When i first install cm13, i was using this tutotial for extend my device partition layout to 1.2gb.
My question is, should i revert back my partition layout to stock miui kk and follow your tutorial, or directly follow your tutorial?

That's all, thanks for your awesome rom :D

You need to upgrade anyway. You need the new baseband and it would not fit in the old layout

You can either follow my tutorial or use the xiaomi way to upgrade, both will be fine.
As said above 1.2 extended layout will not work as the 2x 600mb layout

Sorry for not asking clearly, i meant is your method able to upgrade the 1.2gb partition to MIUI MM size? The post above u asked what i wanted to say. Thanks in advance
I'm not sure, but it should be fine

I dont know if its only me, but after partitions update, and rebooting to the recovery i have TWRP in Chineese. Is it possible to change it back to ENG ?
Omg, I uploaded the wrong img, thank you for the report. I'll get this fixed asap.
Edit: done

Hey @linuxxxx.....I had already merged the partition using Ivans guide.....how do I upgrade baseband?
If your baseband version is mpss.di.4.0-?????? it means your baseband has already been updated from that Ivan guide

Yes I knew that...I was thinking if something could be done out of linuxxxx's zip without having to flash miui...anyways do you know whether to install global or chinese version?

device encryption

Hi,

first of all I want to thank linuxxxx and all contributors. I just installed this ROM and it is awesome! Unfortunately a very important feature is not working (at least in my case): device encryption. I followed the installation instructions step by step:
1.) I merged the partitions according to the link in the first post,
2.) I did a factory reset,
3.) I flashed the ROM (snapshot 18-04, but nightly from 14-05 showed the same behaviour),
4.) I flashed GAPPs (arm, nano version)
If I try to encrypt the device (settings->security->encrypt device) I am prompted to enter my PIN. After entering my PIN and confirming the encryption screen flashes up for a second and then the device reboots instantaneously. Of course nothing is encrypted then...

Because device encryption is in my opinion a very important feature, I want to ask, if somebody got it running, or if it's a current bug and probably gets fixed in future builds? (Or at least, if there are plans to fix it?)

Thanks in advance!

Known issue, posted by many people and myself facing this issue for more than a month now... It only happens when outside and also only in daytime (when outside temp is high) ... It has also never happened to me when I'm home or in a cool place.

May be it could be heating issue ... I still can't figure out since usually I'm busy during that time [emoji12]

All I could figure out was, if this happens hard reboot is the only way out. It won't happen for another 30 or so min but will happen again after that if you are still in same conditions.

Sent from my MI 3W using XDA-Developers mobile app
Did somebody create a bug for this in their jira?

Partitions

@linuxxxx
I was on the old extended layout(provided by audahadi) and tried running the files you provided. It didn't run so I have manually flashed all the files, then for good measure flashed miui mm via fast boot.I have a system partition of 1.2 GB which is the same as audahadi's layout.
I am attaching the partition layout output, can you confirm it is the desired one. Also please confirm baseband.

Your baseband and partition layout is correct. Don't worry, you can update.
