Great! Glad to hear it.Of course after making that post I decided to try it again and one reboot later GPS Test can see satellites. I'll test it on a trip later today, but it appears to be working.

Was gonna download then remembered I have the sprint variant....CURRENTLY NFC SERVICE CAN DRAIN THE BATTERY BY LOOPING (DUE TO LIBS BUILT FOR NON-VZW NFC CHIPS).
TO FIX THIS FLASH THE FOLLOWING ZIP FILE AFTER ANY ROM .ZIP:
Mirror 1 (Goo.im)
Mirror 2 (Crackflasher)
Enjoy
This is a shot in the dark, but which gapps are you flashing?Figured I'd give this a shot.
Ran into a problem... One CM11 was installed,it booted up and the setup dialog kept crashing.
I noted that the cell phone signal at the top kept coming in and dropping out (about every 5 to 10 seconds).
Tried the newest nightly and the newest snapshot... no luck.
Tried MJE modem and NC4 modem - same thing.
Suggestions?
Also look at settings/about the phone, and insure the modem you think you're running did indeed successfully flash via Odin.Figured I'd give this a shot.

OK, here's a theory, after giving it some thought: I've been running CM11 since 1st of the year. A couple of weeks ago I tried to flash the NC2 modem and had exactly the symptoms you describe. So, if you REALLY want to give this a try, I'd recommend you flash a TW mje ROM, then flash the mje modem, then flash CM11.Figured I'd give this a shot.

I got it working. Re-flashed the MJE modem firmware.I flashed gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip
I did check the modem, it did line up.
I can try flashing the MJE ROM and then CM 11.
Good! Want to be sure I understand, for future reference: you had to flash a TW MJE ROM 1st, then flash the MJE modem? Then flash CM11 and the radio works fine?I got it working. Re-flashed the MJE modem firmware.
Just the modem. For some reason it didn't stick the first time I flashed it in Odin.Good! Want to be sure I understand, for future reference: you had to flash a TW MJE ROM 1st, then flash the MJE modem? Then flash CM11 and the radio works fine?
OK. Got it. For future reference, when you plan to flash a modem via Odin, you want to enter download mode from power off.Just the modem. For some reason it didn't stick the first time I flashed it in Odin.

I'm not aware of any issues with PA gapps. Know something you can share? So it's best to stay away from the pa gapps?
And I bet that was exactly the issue. Been flashing ROMs since the Droid 1... You would think I would have known that. Sigh.OK. Got it. For future reference, when you plan to flash a modem via Odin, you want to enter download mode from power off.
In your defence, Samsung devices are unique in their use of Odin. And most Custom ROMs allow reboot to download mode. It's just some odd behavior of Odin, that flashing a modem often doesn't stick unless you boot to download from power off.And I bet that was exactly the issue. Been flashing ROMs since the Droid 1... You would think I would have known that. Sigh.
Thanks for your help.

NC2 and NC4 modems definitely don't play nice with AOSP. Don't understand why, but I've had the same experiences and decided to just let them alone. So check this, I decided to odin the NC4 modem after I had cm11 all set up. So I entered download mode from a pwered off state, fired up odin, flashed NC4, and reboooted with no service. I tried going back to the MJE modem and the same thing, no service. However restoring to Beans6 brought service back. So I guess I have to Odin the modem before flashing CM11....kind of wierd.
Also anybody know why the min clock speed is locked at around 1100mhz? I tried setting the min to 300mhz but it will not stick. I apologize if there is a obvious solution I have been out of the aosp game for a bit.![]()
No, just trying to decide which. Pa looks good to try everything; there is so much unused system partition space available.I'm not aware of any issues with PA gapps. Know something you can share?
I don't know. Check out the Unified CM11 thread. How about OTG, is that working yet?
I just checked the "known issues" log and OTG is not listed. But that doesn't necessarily mean it works. How about OTG, is that working yet?
