Just the modem. For some reason it didn't stick the first time I flashed it in Odin.

This is an odd "known" issue where flashing the MJE modem can take 4-5 tries. (No .. Really). Like you have to enter ODIN mode flash modem, reboot and check it in settings under baseband .. Rinse and repeat till it works. :/

If you boot to download mode from power off, mje modem sticks first time, every time. At least for me.

And thanks, again, for all of your support.

Same here...booting into dl mode from a powered off state is key. :)
Same here.Boot from off state using buttons on the side. Worked first time. Also left reboot checked on odin
I have used this

Hey droidstyle,
did you find a kernel with exfat support for the N2 to pair it with CM?
I have a 64gb sandisk and they like exfat. I know that on note 2 ( thanks for the how to... btw) they had a kernel or two with exfat support.
TIA

CM11 rocks on my Verizon Note 3 DE. I was having so many problems/issues with touchwiz roms ( certain settings would not work, no pin / password lock screens, etc... ) so I decided to load up CM11 yesterday. I applied the GPS fix & flashed the MJE radio. So far this ROM is rock solid! I don't use NFC so that is not a loss for me.

Thanks to all the developers and coders who have shared so far and I look forward to more greatness with CM11!

I am on the 5-26 Nightly build:

http://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/70063/cm-11-20140526-NIGHTLY-hlte.zip

I applied the following fixes:

NFC fix by Hashcode:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52643269&postcount=283

CURRENTLY NFC SERVICE CAN DRAIN THE BATTERY BY LOOPING (DUE TO LIBS BUILT FOR NON-VZW NFC CHIPS).
TO FIX THIS FLASH THE FOLLOWING ZIP FILE AFTER ANY ROM .ZIP:
Mirror 1 (Goo.im) (May have issues at the moment)
Mirror 2 (Crackflasher)

WHAT DOES THIS DO?

The .zip file removes the following files from the installed ROM:
  • /system/app/NfcNci.apk
  • /system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.nfc.hce.xml
  • /system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.nfc.xml
  • /system/etc/permissions/com.android.nfc_extras.xml
  • /system/etc/permissions/com.cyanogenmod.nfc.enhanced.xml
  • /system/lib/hw/nfc_nci.msm8974.so

This removes the NFC option from the Settings menu as well as the HAL and any Java-based service.

Enjoy
GPS fix by josquin:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51251577&postcount=222

This will fix your GPS (even with SIM in) on currently CM11 nightlies. I see all satellites now in the GPS Test app.

1) Open Root Explorer
2) Long press /etc/gps.conf, choose "Open in Text Editor"
3) Change the line LPP_PROFILE = 0 to LPP_PROFILE = 3
4) Reboot

Your GPS should now work properly. Enjoy!

WOW, appreciate that greatly! Thank you!! I'm already using 4.3 TWRP v2.7, is there any issues flashing cm11 since it's based on 4.4?

MJE and NC4
Something's not right. With NC4 I would fully expect this behavior. NC2 and NC4 radio's aren't compatible with AOSP ROMs for some reason. But MJE radio works perfectly. You are sure mje radio "stuck" when you Odin flashed it? Which nightly did you try? Maybe it would be worth trying M7 when it is released if a few days, with MJE radio of course.

I get random data drops too with cm11 no matter what radio I'm on. From the best I can tell, mine seems tied to receiving MMS picture messages and also snapchats. My radio will still display signal but I have no service. I have to toggle airplane mode to fix it immediately or I believe sometimes it corrects itself over time. It's strange for sure. I'm using the default APN settings. I have considered using the APN backup tool on a stock ROM and then restoring on cm11 but just haven't had the time. Will report back if I do.

Weird. I've no problem with data. CM11 and mje radio.

I started with mje when I first flashed CM11...part of the reason why I tried NC4 was because of the data drops which led to the issue I posted a few posts back. :)

I completely agree on the MJE radio.

I tried a few different basebands and had modem cycling issues, then flashed back to MJE and all has been perfect ever since.

Would this rom and kernel work on a Tmobile Note 3? I'm really sick of the locked bootloader but to spend another $300 for the unlocked device is just ridiculous.

CM11 is "unified" for the Note 3. That means it's same ROM/file for all versions. However your bootloader must be unlocked. Otherwise your are condemned to only flash ROMs with the stock Touchwiz kernel.
