On the op of philz thread it says they are unified but not sure if it ignores the asserts in that version of philz recovery. And no one seems to respond to thread questions except for you guys here. I'm about to pull out my hair!!!! Lol
"Unified" was related to gsm+CDMA. From February until early September. Now they are "de-unified". Our DE did not have a 4.4 bootloader when his thread was active. I wouldn't recommend flashing it unless you can confirm. I suspect you're stuck with the TMO twrp recovery for now. You'll have to edit the updater-script to remove the assert from the ROM.

No bigbiff downloaded my stock recovery I had backed up and said he added it to his to do list.

I've been running the de-unified 9/25 nightly. I've noticed if I try to update to the latest nightly from the CM updater, the CM Updater seems to be pointing back to the wrong nightly files. The way I found this out is I've been downloading the nightlies, then attempting to autoflash via the updater. Philz quickly exits and reboots - I'm sure it's just seeing the incompatible update file and failing out.

When I hit the CM homepage and go to downloads and select devices etc, selecting the Verizon Note 3 takes you to the htle nightlies. You have to browse and then find the htlevzw link on the left to get to the right download section.

My question: Is there some sort of file that can be updated as part of the CM updater to point to the hltevzw nightlies? Or maybe this is something that needs to be changed on the CM server since the downloads section of the website also points to the wrong nightly downloads. I'm assuming I either need to fix it locally or it could be globally fixed by a CM admin that updates the pointers.

Anyone else seeing this or have any ideas?

I just did a dirty modification of the asserts and loaded CM 12.1 hlte nightly on my newly liberated hltevzw. Other than no mobile network (no voice/sms/data) and the S-Pen just being a dumb stylus, everything else seemed to work well. Due to the lack of mobile network I had to manually set the time.

If I get time over the weekend I might look into getting mobile data going or start looking into porting CM 13. It's been a while since I worked on anything like this so I don't expect success anytime soon but if anyone else starts working on development, I'm willing to test.

Edit: I lost mobile data upon restoring from backup... maybe this wasn't a good idea.

did you have to flash a stock offical rom back to get your mobile data working again?

im on retail vzw n3 sm-n900v (of1) stock rooted, supersu, busybox, twrp and of course the new unlocked developer edition bl
want some CM 13 so bad
btw im not using a verizon sim card but am using pageplus cellular sim card that does use the verizon network towers (cdma)

what aosp rom can we play with safely at this point?

I had to Odin back to stock (this also includes re-rooting and reinstalling TWRP) and set my mobile network mode back to LTE/CDMA. I wouldn't call anything safe yet, especially AOSP or anything non-TouchWiz or even TouchWiz stuff ported from other devices until you start seeing some stuff built for our device, HLTEVZW (SM-N900V). If you must play around, I recommend looking for ROMs that work for Sprint devices, HLTESPR (SM-N900P), which is the closest CDMA device to ours.

It looks like development for the hltevzw stopped in CM11. I'm looking at building CM12.1 for our device starting with the hltespr as a start. CM 13 isn't officially supported for that device either yet so I'm not looking at that yet. If I can get 12.1 running without much issue I'll look into CM 13. So far I'm stumbling just getting a decent build environment running and don't have a lot of time.

cant wait.
will cm11 work ok with these types of phones once you have twrp make a full backup of each os?
you can then do full advanced wipes and restores to toggle between lp or mm and cm11?
