I installed this ROM today after using my note 2 only with stock roms. This custom ROM made my phone fly. It's a nice and clean build. I love it !!! Thank you developer!

I had the same feeling with you guys about magisk and specially magisk 12
So what i was doing so far was to uninstall magisk and install SuperSU instead or in Lineage roms, let CMSU as a root method.
The last day I am testing, under the guide of my ''teacher'', @Silent Visitor , to see what is this which is causing the battery drain.
What I have seen is that its maybe not the magisk but rather a LOS bug in power management (DOZE maybe) , which is keeping rom from sleep and drain out battery.
I have a Note 2 and also a NOTE 4 phone, which are at the moment running the same Android version from the same Team.
In my Note 4 is running magisk as a root method as in my Note 2 .
Note 4 is using 1.1% battery/hr and my Note 2 was consuming 2,2 - 3% per hour. My note 2 was never sleeping.
Do you know what was their difference? GREENIFY. After I installed it in my Note 2 as well , battery fell 50% per hour.
Wake-locks in ''PowerManagerService'' fell from 85% to 8% and the rom started to consume 1% battery per hour.
Its still early to be 100% sure but, I think we have to look there for the battery drain problem rather than the root method selected.

@logosA....Does this mean one should leave Magisk alone until the real culprit is found? I have a choice then to clean install the current update and have the pain of reinstalling numerous Apks OR dirty flash it on my current ROM from which I have removed Magisk. Any advice will be appreciated.

YES, dont seek in root method, battery drain problem,
Leave the root method of each rom as devs have chosen(or not at all)
Install a power saving app like greenify or naptime.
As I posted this same post in google+ thread of teams compiling roms of our phone, the answer was the same.
Google is aware of this behavior of apps causing battery drain and is seeking for ways this to be eliminate in Andoid O.
The Rom we are at the moment is using CMSU and also is the best battery friendly at the moment.
So nothing have to be done , leave it as it is.

Still no go

Clear phone apps cache
Make sure it is the default dialer
Regrant all permissions of the phone app
Then force close it...
And open again
Hi Vishal,

I am currently on aicp and haven't tested this latest version....
Like the one that released just now but @logosA could help you and tell if it is actually a ROM bug
Otherwise I would suggest you to simply try dirty flashing the previous version of the ROM...and check again..
That's what I would try...

Is anyone having problems with incall sound? I've flashed clean, but when I call someone, i cannot hear anything.
Thank you in advance
I have BeanGapps mini and also have changed file
system/etc/sound/t03g with the values that was suggested by @Wooland in a post
and now I have a very strong and vivid sound in my calls, music and apps like I did when AGNI kernel was present in the roms.

look what he suggested here

Kudos LogosA & Vishal,

After all, both your methods were successful, meaning dirty flashing prev vers on top of new one was ok.
Secondary was to clean flash again and flash another set of gapss (full gaps), now no problem so far.

Thanks again, to both of you!

Cheers,

can u add this so spen works on this rom??

In the thread of AICP for Note 4, that I am following, dev of the rom @mone, has included in his rom SPEN support created from the recognized developer @fattire. IN his words:
[[''I'm including @fattire's CMSPen so the spen is working/recognized and if you're a user of Note Buddy you don't need "CM S Pen Add-on". ]]
Doing that in the rom, now we are able to use our stylus in it, as it is now well recognized and very well working with apps like SQUID (former known as PAPYRUS) and even with ONE NOTE by Microsoft. I have installed them both in my Note 4 and are working perfect.
Seen that, I would like to ask the dev @makorn645, if he wants/like/can use it to so our Note 2 can use this future as well, as until now only with paid apps could add some functionalities of stylus in our phone.
The two of them (creator of the add-on and dev of the rom) are amazing helping people and we could properly ask for their permission/ will , if they allow that to be used .
The original GitHub link is this:
https://github.com/fat-tire/cmspen
The post of the dev referring to the add to his rom is this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71956124&postcount=13
I am never asking for futures to be add in the roms , I always accept what devs decide to do , and this is not a request.
Just saw that happen/working in front of my eyes and thought to share, so some time in the future , could be used for Note 2 .
is it possible to install or modify this rom so we can get the original spen functions??

Cheers,
I had no problem with this ROM and opengapps (stock). After 10 days of using I get a notification prompting to select sim card but there was no sim detected. So i restarted the phone and after restart sim was detected normally but I totally lost my incall sound (no matter who I called or called me).
What I did was:
1. activate, than deactivate airplane mode.
2. Shutdown phone, removed battery and sim card for 2 minutes. Reinserted only the battery, booted phone.
3. Shutdown again, removed battery 2 minutes, reinserted sim and battery this time, rebooted. Incall sound was back again.
I don't know what of this did the trick, but if you get this problem again, here is the solution that worked for me. It's clearly a bug somewhere, maybe dev will look into it sometime. :)
@logosA
I must admit, the standby time with location mode always on (power saving mode) is absolutely amazing at home, connected on wifi. (2-3% per night) (No greenify installed) On the other side, when moving in the city and being connected on mobile data, the battery burns fast, and phone gets hot really easy when mobile signal is bad. In betterbatterystats RILJ wakelock shows up the most, and Alarms from com.google.android.gms with wakeup_activity_detection and wakeup_locator being the top users.
Do you think this is from location always on? Should I try using the phone without location some days and see if it gets better? Do you have any ideas of what I could change to have better battery when on mobile data?

Regards
