Hi, I'm quite new here on xdadevelopers. I'm trying to understand why OFFICIAL pixel experience for MI A1 is no longer downloadable from the official site. I have last december version of PE on my device, that asks to update to January one. I installed it to try it, but the official patch has problems with fingerprint and ambient display. I read somewhere that I should try to wipe all, install stock Xiaomi and then flash again the January PE. But before doing it I'm looking for feedback of this procedure. Anyway, can i find UNOFFICIAL PE versions with January patch online? Thanks to anyone who helps me.
Look to Tissot xda discussion - rom & kernel - unofficial PE by Joey Huab, it's the unofficial version that get updated to January patch.
Does wifi work in this ROM?
The last PE ROM I downloaded kept on switching off my wifi and I had to downgrade to nougat to make it work

Until a few days ago, when I changed to PE 9.0, WIFI worked perfectly on my phone. The only problem with this ROM is that dark mode crashes when opening the default app for sms, but nothing else.

What is this?
An AOSP based ROM, with gapps included, and all Pixel stuffs (launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, bootanimation).

* We can't delete old fp and add new ones after 5 enrollments, working on it
* LED for notifications is not working
voLTE is reported as not working by some users, I don't have this feature in my country, please do not post about this, if I find a definite fix ill add it otherwise I can't fix it myself.

* Sim settings menu crashes when clicking on sim
* Softkey navbar doesn't enable in settings menu

DON'T FLASH GAPPS, ALREADY INCLUDED
Steps:
1. Use latest TWRP
2. Wipe data if coming from any other rom(!)
3. Flash Rom (No need for gapps, do not flash them, they are included!)
4. Flash TWRP (optional)
5. Reboot to twrp and flash magisk (optional)
6. If you are coming from stock, you needt toDownload: bootloader and flash userdata.img from stock nougat

Solution for all fingerprint issues (will add to OP as well):
So I had several issues both on my phone and others, even wiping data didn't work, the solution afetr digging in is actually really simple and works 100%.
1. Download latest Oreo stock fastboot from Xiaomi
2. Flash using miflash with full wipe and lock
3. Once you get to setup wizard don't setup anything, reboot back to bootloader
4. Flash userdata image from august nougat stock
5. Format userdata to get correct userdata size
6. Boot latest TWRP and flash latest Pixel Rom
7. Flash TWRP (optional)
8. Reboot into recovery and flash latest magisk (optional)
After this all 5 fingerprint work fine including delete, no more left over fingerprint after deleting, solution is permanent unless you downgrade to nougat stock, then you have to do the procedure again.
