Looks good! I also like the fact you get the charger and the cables.

I bought this:

ebay link

Apparently, this one can be used with the protective case on, but I really like the streamlined charging solution on the official charger... Probably gonna get that one as well :p

Would love to see some pix of it mounted in your car!

I will take a few in a moment and add to the album. It was too dark when I mounted it last night. I do appreciate the auto brightness on the Tab, makes for an easy transition when driving during the day and night.

Thanks for the photo's.

It looks like it won't work for me and i think alot of others, you can't mount it for example coming up the side of a center console, judging by the shape of the arm? am i wrong has to be on a horizontal surface or windshield.

Thanks for sharing this pics, is there an audio out like samsung announced?
How does the Tab clip in? How is it fixed?

As described on their website, the headphone jack is accessible when the Tab is mounted. No audio out built into the mount.

The Tab stays clipped in at each corner. The mount grabs each corner. To insert or remove, you peel back each edge.

The design is a bit restrictive. Currently the arm is best suited for a windshield or dash via the adhesive base plate.

I plan on taking the mounting plate and fabbing my own bracket that will put the Tab in front of the stock head unit. It will have a slide mechanism so that the head unit can still be accessed if necessary.

In Norway it comes without baseplate and without audio output !
It won't reach for a good position in my Range Rover with the stupid suction cup so I will have to fabricate some bracket for it instead.
The worst was it came without audio output.
I got both the car holder and HDMI desktop stand today and have ripped both apart.
Hopefully I will have time tomorrow to make some schematics of both.
And come up with a good solution so we can get audio output from the car holder as well.

Hmm, $70, it's a pricey wee beast. Looks like a good quality unit though. What're your overall thoughts of it?

The specs doesn't say anything about coming with an audio output, just that the standard 3.5mm connector is still accessible, are people expecting something more than this? (Bluetooth audio ala the Nexus car dock - which apparently doesn't work very well).

In my mind its too expensive just form a bunch of plastic.
Tought there would be an audio output via properitary connection so you are able to hide the cable and dont have to put on x connections to your tab with the looking of a cheap navi.
Really disappointed with this. The mount is by the way for the prototype SGT with a build in stylus on the right upper corner. They just dont change the layout, in my eyes needless ports that dont belong to such an expensive device. Other brands did a better job. Such as zenus with the leather case, the samsung original is bad build.

Yes, its really overpriced, even if you notice the quality of the mount. I didnt wanna wait for womething cheaper and didnt find any simple and cheap solution for this. And there seems to be noone selling a cable with two "angled" plugs in germany... Because the arm of the mount is very short, i have to use it in landscape-mode (makes no sense for navigation for example). Audio-out via proprietary port would make it perfect, as was mentioned above.
Anyways, in-car use of the tab as a navi and music player is really great. I synchronize my music from my desktop to my tab (fortunately i dont need any software for this), using mortplayer as player in the car. Works great, carmode automatcally deactivates suspension-mode with power plugged in.
