Dual-booting (supports only JB ROMs: Samsung JB and CM10)
fixed a UMP related bug in v1.6.8 that was causing lags for CM10 users
removed CPU locking when GPU freq >=440MHz
alternate touch recovery for secondrom related operations
Some 2ndROM features are missing. Implemented features are: Clone 1stROM to 2ndROM, Clone 2ndROM to 1stROM, Swap ROMs, Delete 2ndROM.
implement missing 2ndROM features
make a CWM-flashable 2ndROM-utils app
implement more accurate space requirement checks
Some recovery details:
CWM-based Recovery v22.214.171.124
default backup format is set to tar (you can set it to dedupe)
In kernel recovery options: delete stweaks defaults or remove init.d scripts
In dual booting menu: swapping, cloning and other 2ndROM related options
swipe gestures support (up/down to choose menu items and right/left to select/back)
doubletap to select (needs a little more tuning though)
uses Samsung JB stock kernel recovery as the base
Some details about dual-booting:
2ndROM system partition will be kept in /sdcard/.secondrom/system.img. You will need 1.5GB space for the 2ndROM system partition in your internal sdcard.
both data partitions in 1stROM and 2ndROM will use the same space. Make sure you have enough space to hold both system and data when you clone 1stROM to 2ndROM.
hidden partition is used as 2ndROM cache partition.
Flashing a new ROM may flash another kernel and you will not be able to boot into 2ndROM anymore. But you will not lose it unless you delete “.secondrom” folder in your internal sdcard. So, flashing back SiyahKernel will let you boot into 2ndROM again.
See this post for more details. It is for S2 but still useful to understand what dualbooting is about.
Hey guys, I just converted a kernel for SHW-M440S
SiyahKernel S3-v1.7beta1.. It was released yesterday: October 6, 2012
I used to have the MI1 Plus and it uses the MIUI ROM. Dual booting is built-in and both partitions also shares the same data. Just like the Siyah kernel, you can't mix different Android versions. Can't wait to flash this kernel but I have to wait until the dev updates my current ROM (RGUI MIUI) to JB. He's just waiting for the official JB (UK version) to be released.

Yes! I installed Omega 27.1 and logged into the dropbox app and they gave me 48gb free for 24 months
Yep, I got it too. It's a free offer to S3 owners, I believe.
Hi, i just get the SHV-E210K, can you guys show how to ROOT this thing, and make the number of SMS that can be written to be more than 90 characters? Other than that, I can not use USSD code from my mobile provider, is there a solution. Thanks!
Here is my adaptations for SHV-E210K:
- Based on Chainfire's CWM recovery v6.4
- Fixed bug in original CF-CWM where it's impossible to restore backup if one of tar file bigger than 2.1GB.
Install it through ODIN. Choose E210K_CWM.tar as PDA part.
CWM Manager + busybox + root
- CWM Manager version for E210K/S/L. So, now you can make backup and restore it very easy! Just like on GT-I9300 version.
- most complete busybox version
- SuperSU as root manager.
Although it's compatible with any SHV-E210 version, there is no CF-CWM for S/L yet. Thus u need to use some other recoveries to install root and busybox (CWM Manager won't work without CF-CWM Recovery)
Install it through CWM recovery.
Everything here is compatible with any existing ROM version for E210K.
dont think its flashable via CWM. i never tried that before but i've always flashed new factory firmwares (or any firmware for that matter) through odin. download odin v3 and choose the file you want to flash after clicking the PDA button and then just press start. make sure you are in download mode (turn on the phone by pressing volume down, home, and power at the same time). let us know if you have any other questions. How did you update the firmware? im completely new. i downloaded the ALIA firmware for my SKT s3 and i tried to flash it through CWM but it didnt work
To enjoy a lag and glitch free experience, do the following.
Open aTweaks app
Select CPU tab (first tab)
Set CURRENT GOVERNOR to "pegasusqplus"
Set CPU MAX FREQUENCY to "1600 MHz"
Set CPU MIN FREQUENCY to "100 MHz"
Select MISC tab
Check "Enable Boost-boot"
Check "Enable Frandom"
For an Ultra Smooth Experience,
Set CURRENT GOVERNOR to "performance"
Set CPU MAX FREQUENCY to "1400 MHz"
Set CPU MIN FREQUENCY to "100 MHz"
**Battery Drain is somewhat high with this setup**
- Use Greenify to Hibernate Apps
- Use Fast Reboot App to clear memory
- Use Advanced Power Menu App to Modify your Power Menu and Add Reboot to Recovery & etc. Options
***Please note that you should uncheck 'auto reboot' when flashing cwm in odin. If you reboot straight back to your stock rom, it has a fail safe that will restore stock recovery. Once you are done flashing cwm in odin, do the the three finger salute to enter into cwm recovery to flash supersu.***
