I installed an OTA update today. (device: h990-ds)

I have to thank the DEV for keeping this device up and running and working on it.
but the problem is that remaining issues we speak about here, are not even considered in any of the updates from almost first unofficial release till now and that is very frustrating.

I mean why should a user struggle on basic needs of a daily driver? like BT connection? GPS connection?
aren't they more important than updating lineage wizard script for TV??

and why aren't any of them mentioned in the first post? known bugs? just volte?

I can name 8-10 issues and bugs!

please at least consider looking at them

btw, h990ds is not officially supported, although a friend has said it works just fine (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/official-lineageos-18-1-for-the-lg-v20.4255323/post-85892415)

maybe you can ask him

i think either your hardware is defect (if they work on another rom, then it's not), or if the firmware isnot compatible...

maybe if you provide some logs to the dev he can fix them, but just complaining wouldn't help bcs the dev cannot reproduce the errors it seems

What v20 model do you have

When I enable "WIFI Verbose" in developer options the WIFI stays connected but the setting app is unavailable and unable to access the wifi setting by tapping on wifi. When I enabled this setting before it caused many systemUI crashes. So unable to access the setting app really sucks.

Good news: Your H910 can be fixed
Bad news: There is no kdz for the H910, BUT you can use US99610f_00_1205.kdz

My recommendation:
Option A: Road to LOS 18.1
1) Boot into downloader and flash US99610f_00_1205.kdz with LGUP and reboot, phone will work perfect. This will set up partitions and LG framwork files correctly
2) Unlock bootloader and install TWRP
3) Flash h910-10r.zip via TWRP >>>DO NOT reboot
4) FORMAT DATA >>> DO NOT reboot
5) Flash LOS 18.1 and MindTheGapps-11.0.0-arm64-20210328_143848 and reboot
6) IF needed flash H910 nugut modem. I cant remember if this is necessary but possible

Option B: Oreo with no ATT crap
1) Flash US99620f_00_1120.kdz with LGUP

Done.......

I should be clear. The phones need to be rolled back because its security patch is Mar 2017 and November 2017. They can be rolled back so that is not a problem. The problem is the guide I was following and linked can't be followed because some of the downloads are missing. Once this is done, I can then follow the guide you linked.

It is my understanding that twrp 3.2.3.0 us996 must be installed 1st. Then after you can install twrp 3.5.0.9.0 h910. Thats what i did. Why not try h910 and see if it works the 1st time.

I am running 18.1 h910 and twrp h910 and all is ok.

IR works on any rom as long as you get a kernel that supports it. For now, only gamma has working IR (and only a specific version that i tested while trying to find a fix for it on lineage kernels, but it's quite outdated and might have other bugs with newer android versions although i didn't face any during my testings).

Thanks for the info. Curreny I am using PE with gamma. 3 things I notice is 1. Using gamma the phone is sometimes getting really hot. 2. It drains the battery compared to PE built in kernell. 3. Every 2 or 3 days I.get green kernel.panic. so if I switch to LOS, will I be facing.those problems also? Thanks

Not really, you'll only face abnormal battery drain and high temps if you push the device (some other kernels are better at this, but lineage is good enough for most cases). Green kernel panics also shouldn't happen at all on LOS stock kernel from what i've tested.

Maybe, maybe not... LOS is a very light ROM, but it ultimately comes down to how the kernel manages the CPU clocks and so on, i didn't test gamma extensively on that regard.
