how i can get latest stock firmware for latest vendor security patch? lineageos say is unknown but i think is from 2017... how i can flash latest vendor patch? i have LG V20 H910

Installed 20210415 version on H918 (previously unofficial 18.1 and official 17.1) after factory reset via TWRP. Runs great! Added Gamma kernel and Magisk. No problems with BT or GPS or camera (both stock and gcam cstark27_GCam_5.1.018_24_v4.2t3.apk).

Great job developers!

If you have success or problems please include the LG V20 version in your post. Often the difficulties are version dependent.

Hallo, as there is now an offical LOS 18.1, i am asking here again.

Does encryption and mounting encrypted volume in LOS 18 work now, or is LOS 16 still the last version, were it works?
I would try myself but doing an upgrade and than downgrade again, if it still doesnt work, is a big hassle.
Somebody have encryption on and can mount and decrypt the DATA Volume in TWRP?

encryption work very good on 18.1 for lg V20 h910 phone i think other versions work too.. i not know about what is mounting. you mean TWRP? i do OTA update in lieageos 18.1 and it remove twrp and make lineage recovery.. i dont no how i install TWRP again... i cant check... sorry

maybe make latest available version firmware? maybe 2019... i not know what is last version, my phone vendor security is 2017... how i upgrade to 2018 or 2019 if possible to make? thx :) soryr for bad engglish

we support the G5/v20/G6 all in one common tree. This means we can use most Oreo blobs (and do) on v20.

But we have to use a few Nougat blobs for the G5 as it never got Oreo.

I'll be updating the vendor date for the v20 to reflect the latest Oreo build, and G5 for Nougat soon.

Bootstacks/firmware will remain whatever you're on. I'm not touching that, as each variant is different and there are too many to account for.

hmmm okay. thx so much for talking me. i having one queshion.. you know what is latest vendor security patch for Oreo LG V20 h910 AT&T? on website it say september 2018... is it last one? thx :)

Is fingerprint scanner supposed to be working? I'm on us996 with Verizon and I just flashed this coming from stock oreo + twrp. Everything seems to be working fine except the fingerprint scanner.

ya'll need to start searching, this has been going on for years. If you want the fingerprint sensor to work you need to have nougat firmware.

Hi,

I've been away for a while and want to install Lineage OS on my H-910. I'm using:

Bootloader unlocked via Dirty Santa Method?
Twrp installed.
H910_20h_Oreo_full_rooted zip
H910_v2.1-mk2000
LG Add Ons like rctd disabler and the hide warning from AT&T.
Magisk

I want to make sure that all of my phones features work properly like fingerprint sensors, wireless charging, etc. Are there any additional steps I would need to make to install the latest LineageOS with full functionality or just follow the install guide? Let me know, thanks!

On LOS >16, u cant mount DATA in TWRP. Causing not being able to do a nandroid backup.
This is caused by the DATA Partition cant be decrypted in TWRP, when using 17=>. In LOS 16, this still works fine.

This is causing TWRP to be useless, when encrypted and a recent LOS. Ofcourse not everybody does a backup through
TWRP but when moving to another LGV20, its the most time inentensive option.

But thanks for the reply. Good to know, it work fine in LOS Recovery and OTA

    Downloads:
    Please follow the install instructions in your device's Wiki page linked below exactly, and make sure your device's firmware matches the required firmware listed.

    Known Bugs:
    • IMS (VoLTE/Wi-Fi Calling) doesn't work due to framework tie-ins used by the LG proprietary binaries.
    • Find any? Report them according to this guide.

    • The only supported GApps package at the moment is MindTheGapps, linked on our Wiki page about gapps.

    Okay, I just merged a literal TON of changes for LGE 8996, please watch for regressions - display should be much more smooth with less artifacting.

    Also, 19.1/20 are in the (long term) works for this set of devices, as the 4.4 kernel port is finally mature enough to use.

    The LOS snap camera has been broken for a very long time (years) and many people have had to use GCAM or Open Camera and all these people including myself are sick that LOS maintainers can't fix a simple but very important apk in LOS (CAMERA video sound issue). This is well documented all over LOS wiki and github etc.....

    Yeah, considering h910/h918 are near identical, makes sense that they both suffer.

    By your own statement, you're an engineer, and should be able to discern based on the info you gave me that it is _not_ an issue with the "Snap Camera apk", instead that we are using compressed audio path, and clearly it isn't processing right (likely a codec issue like I mentioned several posts ago). We could swap it to unprocessed mic input, but that will be garbled and awful - only using that as a last resort as opposed to actually fixing the compressed audio route.

    As for the insults launched - k, stop using lineage then. I literally have not a care in the world whether you use it. I'm doing hard work for free, which, as an engineer, you should understand is often thankless, and your naggy/attacking comments only make me want to never touch the device again :)

    I'll be looking at it sometime this week, but for everyone else on this thread who has been kind and supportive lol.

    Maybe you should go back to stock? You do realize we do this for free and on our own time? If there are any issues we try to fix them ASAP but with your comments I doubt @npjohnson is going to want to support the device anymore. If there is any issue I would recommend reporting it in a less-hostile way and it might be a simple fix rather than insulting the primary dev for LOS on the device who may now not want to support the device anymore...
