Manged to install lineage-18.1-20221226-nightly-albus-signed.zip and lineage-18.1-20221226-recovery-albus.img on my moto-z2-Play XT1710-09 64G P4.
Previously I was running a AICP aicp_albus_r-16.1-WEEKLY-20220205.zip.
Everything is working, The Lineage recovery flashed to the device and works great when selected "RECOVERY MODE" in the android-bootmenu.
@marcost22 great work(y)

How is everyone doing this? I've tried and tried and tried and all I get after a 20 minute boot is an error message "Your file must be defective". But I've tried it with multiple versions and files.

Hi All,
I have recently updated my Moto Z2 Play XT1710-10 model with LineageOS 18.1 as per instructions and builds provided on LineageOS official website. I have tried both builds available on this website.
I have downloaded required files (recovery img file, OS v18.1 file) and followed every step as specified in the Installation Instructions.
After successful installation of both recovery image and OS zip file, phone is unable to boot. It restarts continuously at startup and stuck in bootloop mode.
I have attached a video file for understanding the issue more clearly.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi marcost22,

> What was the last stock version installed?
>> Last stock OS version was Android 8.0.x
> Did you use TWRP or LOS recovery?
>> Initially, I used LOS recovery which is available on the LineageOS website. When I got same outcome as shown in the video.
Then I tried with TWRP v3.6.2. The Lineage OS was installed successfully but the threw an error "Boot load Kernel failed. Use Software Repair Assistant tool".
> Did you flash any GApps?
>> Yes, I tried with the "MindTheGapps-11.0.0-arm64-20220217_100228.zip" file mentioned in the Installation instructions.

Well you've got a problem to begin with. A10+ roms on albus REQUIRE Pie firmware, so that will break things outright.
LOS Recovery is the only one validated for installing LOS, you can try TWRP but YMMV.
Also, flashing Gapps without first confirming successful boot is a no-no, it's better to boot the rom first to see if everything is working ok, then going back into recovery, formatting data again and then flashing gapps to isolate issues

As I am understanding it correctly, you want me to install Android 9 firmware then try for A10+ custom rom. Is that right?
Right now, I tried with LineageOS 16.1 ( Android 9 ) package with TWRP, its now booting and works fine at the moment.
Can I just update to newer LineageOS versions after this?
Please let me know.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi marcost22,
If you have any information on where can I find official stock Rom for Moto Z2 Play and how to install it? Please share.
As I didn't took backup of the previous stock OS and now after failed in installing LineageOS 18.1, I am kind of stuck. I have installed LineageOS 16.1 successfully but I didn't quite like it so far.
Please let me know.
Thank you.

hello everyone, I have installed 18.1 for a month and I have already received an update but some problems:
The videos can no longer be recorded in 4k and has lost the dual-sim mode.
Have you had these problems?
i have a 1710-09

@marcost22 Since you're still active here and there are monthly updates, could you look to fix notification light? Is it not possible in this ROM? Worked in any other custom I used including maintained by you.

Flash, bang, mind the gapps - and here comes Lineage! Really nice version, very light (but not poor), battery friendly. Moto actions, JBL mod and powerpack mod work fine, no unexpected behaviour so far (three days).
    Thanks @marcost22 !

i had built this myself at home but never thought to publish it or make it official since i thought it was too much work.
so glad someone actually did publish an 18.1 rom for this phone so not everyone has to build it at home (especially since many cant).
    great work as usual (y)

What the hell, that's unexpected to say the least. I'm quite happy with AICP and don't feel like hopping but good to have choice.
