Have now installed Los20 again and installed with TWRP motocamera2 as described above. The standard cam is uninstalled but no motocamera2. After restarting, no cam is present. Have installed motocamera2 from the Appstore, and it works. However, brings when starting the message, Portrait does not work on this hardware. But it runs without a trailer. Did also org. codeaurora. snapcam Version 8. 4. 400. 423370569. 19 installed. Night mode is great! Ran under lot 19 flawlessly. Sometimes she hangs, sometimes she doesn't. The above instructions were unsuccessful with me.
With lineageos and motocamera2 already install it, I just try to reinstall motocamera2 from twrp, and you're right, after flash it ,install process says successful but after restarting no motocamera2 is present.
I wipe everything and, as normal as I do, I reinstall lineageos and at same time I flash motocamera2, and twrp, before reboot device, when process finish I restart device and work without problem!
So I don't know why, but you have to flash the motocamera2 before start lineageos for the first time.
I'll edit instructions above.

H!
For everyone with camera issues,
from last twrp (but also other works) I just install the motocamera2 v23.0 of Denali, same as stock camera app.
It install and work without problem!

Edit:
After report for have to work, motocamera2 must be install after install lineageos but at same time, I mean before start lineageos for the first time.
Otherwise install process in twrp will says anyway "installation successful", but after star lineageos motocamera2 will not present.

If someone doesn't want twrp permanently, it's possible to just boot the image.
ADB and fastboot must be installed, phone connected with USB and debugusb active.

Similar instruction can be found in the official page of twrp. (for me the command part "path/to" that the official guide says doesn't work so I just remove that from the command)

From terminal opened in the same folder of twrp img file, type:
adb reboot bootloader

And then:
fastboot boot twrp-3.7.0_9-0-lake.img

this will temporaney boot the twrp recovery where is possible to flash file putted in the sdcard, the Motocamera2, and also other file, like twrp.zip if want permanently, magisk, ecc.
So just flash the motocamera2 file that I attached and enjoy! (It will install in same partition so doesn't matter in which you are)

Hope could help someone!

Thanks developers for the beautiful lineage rom and still support this device!
Any issues using camera inside apps as Instagram, Telegram, Twitter, etc?

Hello folks!!

How's the current status on LOS20 for Lake?? GPS works fine? Android Auto? Camera still has issues? I can live wit LOS stock camera or OpenCamera if they fully work.

My phone needs a cleanup, so I'm thinking about going from stock to LOS20... Or if there are many problems with it still, I can go to LOS19 instead.

I do not recommend lingering on EOL versions of android (LOS19 is no longer maintained for the device). https://www.malwarebytes.com/blog/n...roid-now-two-critical-vulnerabilities-patched

"CVE-2023-20951 and CVE-2023-20954: both are critical RCE vulnerabilities in the System component. The most severe vulnerability could lead to remote code execution with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation."

If that doesn't scare you into maintaining your security patches, nothing will.

I'd update to 20 and hope for the best. I have had off and on problems with the camera since upgrading. OpenCam seems to work best, and it does work, but saving pics to disk is really slow and ties up the camera while it's doing whatever it's doing. I use NikGapps core and no other additions. I try to keep things minimal so as to avoid these sorts of bugs.

Do you save your photos to your SD card or the internal memory of the device?? That makes a HUGE difference on my phone, even on the stock ROM.

I don't use an sd card so internal memory. It was never a problem before LOS 20 though. BTW, which one are you suggesting works better?

I can confirm that the unofficial build "20230416" pass safety net and that the Aperture Camera works correctly.

The updater shows 3 builds; I installed the latest (16th of April), rebooted and it still shows the 3 builds.

@npjohnson ; is there way to replace the Pixel launcher with the Trebuchet launcher on the unofficial build?

I still having issues with the camera, especially when using inside apps, like Whatsapp or Telegram. Whatsapp toasts a message: "Unable to start camera. Check camera permissions...". I checked the Whatsapp permissions, but is already allowed to use camera all the time.

The GrapheneOS Camera works well most of times, but if I open the Whatsapp before, and the error happens, it's shows "Unable to capture image, error code: 3".

Telegram struggles a little, but in the end is capable to take the shot.

@npjohnson Any idea what could be? I'm using 20.0.20230418 build.

What what is worth, I disabled (via ADB) the Moto Cam.

Hello, this has become too annoying for me. Using Root-Explorer in the directory "/system/Priv-apps/" completely deleted the folder "Motocamera2". After restarting the MGC_8.7.250_A11_V15_ENG.apk camera I reported about and the Aperture camera works. In Whatsapp it works now too.

No, you can just install Nova or something.

My phone is a Motorola G7 Plus, currently at LineageOS v18.

    Two questions:
    • Can I update from LineageOS v18 to v20 straight away, or would I have to go through v19?
    • Will the update retain things like contacts, apps installed and their state? I am aware that I should make a backup of all relevant data anyway, but I would like to know if these are retained if all works as planned.
(hoping I am not asking things that are obvious to other users!)
    Yes and yes

Great job ! Just done a dirty install including flamegapps and everything is working a treat.
    Thanks.
I'd like to try a build but I cant find an up-to-date proprietary vendor on github.n Is it available?
