alexp1289 thanks for the help in google hangouts.
just wanted to give an update to my vzw sm-n900v (android 5.0) OF1 >>>retail turned into dev-edition<<<<
follow the OP's 1st post works.

someone mentioned that we can run a cm13 and i even read something about the call audio only not working when using a verizon sim card.
i use a pageplus cellular sim card which does use the verizon towers.
can someone point me to that rom i cant remember where i read it. had so many tabs open

should i delete my flashfire image backups i made pre cid dev edition change and make a new twrp backup with everything that it can back up?
at this point to my N3
im basically stock rooter with super su and now the dev bl and twrp install.
right now i should make my master backup probably correct?
i can delete all other image files i previously created?
someone should create an OF1 firmware package for just in case situations?
are we allowed to odin official 5.0 OF1 if we have an emergency?
what can we and cant we do?
thanks for all the hard work!

If having problem with above zip try this attachment
View attachment 3721318
Unzip the attachment there will be two files SamsungUnlocker.apk and unlock binary file. Copy both to phone internal storage
Install SamsungUnlocker.apk dont run it yet!
copy unlock bin to system/bin set permission 0755
then run the SamsungUnlocker.apk
Grant Root Access when it prompts then wait for yes/no dialog
Still ends up saying only works on some Samsung devices then going to google as noted in messages above

Yes...I did put unlock in /system/bin and chmod 0755 and verified perms were rwxr_xr_x

Yes..granted both su when prompted

I ran this and everything worked fine. I had to ODEN back to 5.0 and lost the bootloader. I ran it again and it unlocked, etc... Now my SIM card wont work. After checking the CID, it still shows the CID it was changed to, not my CID.

Any idea how I can switch it back to my CID?

yes I would delete all backup imgs made with Flashfire and backup through twrp ..This is beautiful...Oh and might as well put Jasmine on first before backup .
Its the best stock rom with xposed infused and battery excellent. I would wait for Roms to be ported to 900v. I would keep the 0F1 firmware ,Yemen root and Ryan G's magic bootloader unlock in a friggin vault for future emergency procedures..Otherwise we should sit back and enjoy the carefree recovery we have been blessed with..
About recovery surviving an Odin firmware update is a great question and not sure..I dont think it would survive and all the steps would have to be implemented again.. As long as you dont reset your phone in stock recovery or stupid crap many of us do when problems arise we should be fine.. Roms are definitely coming. Jasmine is fine as you can use Xposed framework to tweak and modify a bit safely..

TWRP doesn't survive ODEN.

Your CID remains what it was changed to until you change it back manually. I doubt your cid is the reason your sim is not working.

Ok, so question, I'm on 4.4.2 with nc2 bootloader, tried the script, stops at the 10 visit Google thing. Tried using pc but keep getting device not found...get that using android terminal emulator apk as well. Can I unlock the bootloader with my current 4.4.2/nc2 or do I have to update to lolipop/of1 for it to work?

I've been using JasmineROM with Safestrap up until now, I got the unlocker to work and it says developer edition in download mode. I also have 4.4 TWRP installed.

My question is: Does this mean I can install the developer edition of Jasmine and change out my kernel and all that if I need to or should I reinstall safestrap and keep using that with the retail edition ROM?

There is a step involving ODIN for the developer ed of Jasmine and I just don't want to end up bricking my phone.

I started on 5.0 did the root, bootloader unlock and have been on jasmine, I just flashed the kernel 2 minutes ago. Everything seems to be fine.

Also the only difference between the de jasmine and retail was flashing the partial firmware, now it does not matter since we have unlock.

Ok...looked at the source code samsung_unlock.c and found it's failing at the nearly_useless_compat_check() where it's looking for "amsung" in /proc/cmdline even though the word samsung does exist in a cat of /proc/cmdline

But...even if it got past that....it would fail at the next step in the call to get_cid () since on my 4.4.2 Android...cid is not in any of the places the code is looking.

So without me recompiling beaups code, this executable 'unlock' won't work on a 4.4.2 (NC4) system.
