^ Thanks for your input. I just went ahead and ordered it. I'll be gone all next week so I just chose standard shipping and it's supposed to arrive between June 4th - 6th, which is perfect because I get back home on the 3rd. The next 9 days will be a real test for the pre-applied protector while I'm on vacation.

But I will say that if the pre-applied protector holds up well through this next week of traveling, then I might just keep it on until it get's too beaten up. At which point I'll apply the TGSP in it's place. But we'll see how it goes.

to add to @rickysidhu_'s review, i agree that it wasn't that bad. i had tons of bubbles at first, but with some patience, i was able to get everything out. be careful not to dig too deep with the included plastic tool (should be common sense, but i wasn't that smart) because it can dig small scratches into the glass when getting bubbles out. otherwise, the 3d effect is only really noticeable on the boot screen where the text is all the way against the edge, as seen in the video. otherwise, you can hardly tell. also as mentioned, use the included case to help line it up. it makes a huge difference. all in all, not bad. hopefully it will last the test of time.

unfortunately my preapplied screen protector is a tiny bit too high for my taste too, so when swiping up with gestures enabled you can feel the slight edge :/

I really hope whitedome is going to bring a TGSP for the OP6 on the market
^ Dang! I can't believe how difficult it was for him to remove the bubbles with that protector. And in the end it still had a bubble that kept returning. This sure did make me glad I opted not to pay extra for that tempered glass protector. It's almost as if it doesn't have strong enough adhesive.

Regardless, I plan on sticking with the pre-applied screen protector for a bit before making a decision on a glass protector. In fact, if the pre-applied protector holds up well, I may not ever bother taking it off. I must say that it would be really nice to finally get a phone and never even worry about spending money on a screen protector, or trying to perfectly apply one, for that matter.

I just hope my pre-applied protector isn't positioned too high, as the above video reviewer mentioned his was.
Thanks for this! Your videos are always great when it comes to these things. Keep up the great work!

Do you think the bit the pops up might simply be just because of the curvature of the screen towards the corner?

(curved screened phones are always a nightmare when it comes to putting screen protectors on). If the underside of the screen protector is curved aswell in order to fit the curved screen of the device, even a fraction of difference can cause these kinds of problems, whereas flat ones you can even get away with them positioned slightly off, and they will always sit down perfectly flat.

Can you confirm whether the curvature of the OnePlus 6's screen is just around the edges, or is it the whole of the front that is actually curved?
(If you see what I mean).

I could be wrong, but from what I can see on the video, it does almost look like it's the whole screen that is rounded and not just the edges (but it's hard to tell from a video, so can't know for sure)
My assumption at the moment is because the screen is curved, if the placement is out by even 1mm part of the adhesive won't stick properly. Now that I have the free case on it, it does stick down, but whenever I take the case off it pops back up.

Also to address the factory set screen protector, is does ride too high and that seems to be true for all the OP6 that are shipping so it looks like the machine was set incorrectly at the factory. Because its too high, if you're using gestures you'll feel your finger rubbing on the bottom of it all the time.

Yeah, I can confirm that the pre-applied protector on my OP6 is placed a bit too high, as well. It does get annoying when using gestures (which are surprisingly great, IMO). But I've already trained myself to move my thumb a bit higher up before swiping to avoid hitting the edge of the protector.

It will suffice for now until I get a TGSP installed within the next few weeks.

I have read on a Dutch forum that there is only glue on the edges of the screen protector. The middle is coated with some sort of oil so you won't see any bubbles.

This would explain the YouTube video with the corner not sticking. Could somebody confirm this?
I would say that this isn't true. It took me multiple attempts to align it well and while doing so I had it off and on several times. In the process it had collected quite a lot of particles which I had to remove. To do this I completely covered the sticky side with strips of scotch tape and removed in one go to remove the particles and fibres (this is a trick I learnt years ago - always have a role of genuine scotch tape on hand when applying screen protectors!). If the middle had an oil coating then this would have been destroyed in this process.

After much messing about, it is on and aligned with no bubbles. I have one tiny particle just on the edge of the black frame which I couldn't remove but it is imperceptible with the screen on so I'm happy to leave it.

Just installed the tgsp. I don't love it but don't hate it either.

If your stock protector is too high AND you use gestures, get it. The edge is much smoother and more comfortable to use. Otherwise I would not recommend switching from the stock protector.

The fit is good with the Karbon case and installation is not much harder than any other dry protector. Just make sure u use the included silicon case and align the tgsp against the top (notch side). Keep it as flat as possible and apply liberate pressure with the squeegee.

Are you absolutely sure the official tempered glass would fit perfectly with the nylon bumper case (which has raised lips)?
I would hate to have bubbles forming after a few months...

Absolutely sure. Once you get it aligned it sits fine. It is actually much easier to fit the TGSP with either the supplied case or the Nylon bumper fitted as it helps with the alignment.
