Official OnePlus 6 Tempered Glass Protector. How does it Fare?

My assumption at the moment is because the screen is curved, if the placement is out by even 1mm part of the adhesive won't stick properly. Now that I have the free case on it, it does stick down, but whenever I take the case off it pops back up.

Also to address the factory set screen protector, is does ride too high and that seems to be true for all the OP6 that are shipping so it looks like the machine was set incorrectly at the factory. Because its too high, if you're using gestures you'll feel your finger rubbing on the bottom of it all the time.
Thanks for the tip. Have any of your 3rd party ones arrived yet that you'll be trying out this year?
I will always wait until I've seen your videos now before buying mine. (wish I had done that last year, or I'd have saved myself a fortune on all the many duff ones I had to go through before finding a decent one).
If I remember rightly, I think Orzly's and Nilkin's came out best for OnePlus 5T last year (with the Orzly one being slightly better) but I'll wait this year until I've seen the results come in for the OnePlus 6 versions. (my guess is that it will be the same, but you never know). I love the way you test them, so give us a heads up when you post them.
What have the delivery times been like on them so far? Is amazon giving you any ETA's yet?

They've all been ordered, so I'm just awaiting on shipment. We'll see who manages to get it out first, usually its Orzly. But Nillkin seem to be on the ball this year, not had a shipment notification yet though.

I like it but it has the crazy 3d effect. If they made the screen protector completely clear it would be soooo much better having full screen view.

Update on mine:

After a couple days, a bubble has appeared on the bottom corner :( no idea why/how as I didn't do anything to the device for that to come up.

If I can't get it to go away, I'll be giving Nilkin a shot as many users praise that company for their TGSPs

Nice one man! Any new ones on the horizon that you'll be trying this year, or is it just the main big brands like these ones?

It was pretty hard to put on for me. I had to remove it 4 times because the sides weren't sticking correctly, and that way I got too much dust under it. It has that weird effect because of the black borders, but you won't notice it after using your phone for a few hours.
But overall it's a great protector if you manage to put it on perfectly on the first try

Again, make sure u use the stock silicon case to align the protector. Put the screen protector down on the notch side first and keep it as flat as possible. Apply generous amount of pressure with the squeegee. This should result in minimum amount of bubbles.

Mine OP Glass definitely cracked when separating it from the adhesive layer. Despite being very careful it made it ever so slightly cracked and now a bubble persists under it. My screen protector also had a scratch on it that I discovered within minutes of applying it so I don't know if it came on it already. Either way the edges don't adhere properly as some others are saying and the 3D effect is there...I personally hate it.

I did email OnePlus about a replacement so I'll see what happens but will definitely consider a new protector once some reviews are out on others.

I have taken this off and decided not to use any screen protectors, just the case, and the screen feels brilliant to use. I would say don't bother, and just be careful with the screen (no keys in same pocket etc.)

Not an option for me due to trying to keep resale value as high as possible. Being able to truthfully say "Flawless condition. Screen protector and case installed since unboxing" always seems to sell these phones extremely fast on Swappa, at full asking price.

However, I must say that the pre-applied screen protector (paired with the nylon bumper case) has proven to be an excellent combo for protection; Having already survived my week long Mexico beach vacation with the wife. My OEM tempered glass protector arrives tomorrow but now I just plan on keeping it as a backup for when/if the pre-applied protector starts to peel off or develops too many scratches. Pretty darn happy with the pre-applied protector for now.

Same here. Before this phone, I had Samsung Galaxy S8 plus, HTC 11 and I never used the screen protector. After many months os use, not a single scratch. No screen protector can match the tactile feeling of the original screen. I do however apply nano liquid protector from AliExpress much cheaper than Amazon

I applied the OEM screen protector the day I received the phone and now it is full of scratches. I expected a lot better quality for the price. The cheap glass screen protectors lasted me for years on my Xperia phones but the OnePlus 6 protector appears to be made out of regular glass. Scratches very easy.

FWIW I've had my TGSP on for about a week and not a single scratch or blemish. This morning I accidentally rested an aluminium garden umbrella base on it and there was no damage. The original protector only lasted me a week before I somehow got it scratched.

I much prefer the feel of the TGSP compared to the original one as well.

I found the protector pretty good so far had few issues installing it somehow got bits under it when applying it that I just could not get air bubbles out, even though I did it in a shower wet room to limit dust particles in the air , fine fibres seem to rub out ok so I took of and used sticky tape to remove fibres and bits and reapplied and all good , one corner was giving me issues after air bubbles just kept coming back so I contacted 1+ and blaged a free replacement all I had to do was provide proof of purchase as I ordered it through o2 they wanted a video or photo of the issue but I just said I had no other device to do that (little lie[emoji849]) and that i'd planned to review the protector and mention it in my review etc, (another little lie ?) all of a sudden they were more than happy to send me out another since then my protector has been fine the corner is now sticking as I think the case was touching the corner a little I'm using the nylon case with it no problem so I will have a new spare when arrives happy days [emoji16]

Mine lasted only a week. I got a huge crack from the left to Right. Have absolutely no idea how it happened. I haven't dropped the phone at all so I'm assuming a bit of unintentional pressure might have done it. Seems like it's not an A+ quality like I expected it to be. Customer support can't do much either. Looks like I'm gonna look for other options Once a good brand is available.
