Friend, I installed the MHA-L29 8.0.0.362 (C432) Directly from the last official (MHA-L29C432B198) and all good, working perfectly. I have been using it for 48 hours and until now I have not had any problems. I downloaded the option: FullOTA-MF
what about the Bluetooth ?.I have some problems with 360a(C636).

Does it come with January security update?

Does anyone actually know what all the codes mean on releases in FF?
For 8.0.0.362(C636)
- there are 2 OTA versions dated 9 January 2018. Neither are approved when I check
- there are 2 more full options dated 8 January titled "FullOTA-MF-PV" and "FullOTA-MF"
I'm definitely puzzled by the descriptions on the last 2 options
what about the Bluetooth ?.I have some problems with 360a(C636).
My Bluetooth works perfectly in the car, wireless headphones and even sending files ...

Hi all,
New to this device, got from China, rebranded to MHA-L29C636. Currently on version 8.0.0.360, TWRP and rooted. When doing OTA updates on these, does it mean having to unroot, relock the bootloader, remove the fingerprint and all that? Came from Oneplus One so it was pretty straightforward. Thanks.

Is there anywhere a decent how to that explains how to use firmware finder and anything related to update from Oreo to Oreo? Seems rather confusing coming from other vendors....

Unroot - yes, it is required
Relock bootloader - does not matter
Remove fingerprint - not necessary (it is requirement when doing rebrand)

From Oreo to Oreo simply use FF in-app proxy or dns method. Sure, rom must be approved by Huawei

OK so if approval check doesn't come back positive, then even proxy / dns hack does not help?

Oreo is boring atm, it has only root, no xposed so it's quite useless for me. Otherwise, Oreo is super smooth and has friendly battery usage. I had restored back to Nougat cuz xposed is my live. If you just wanna taste it, go for it :D

Do you really have region C363 ? If yes, don't flash other regions ROMs! You have to rebrand first.

And TWRP can't install official ROMs. You need HwOta utility to flash via patched recovery or FF to flash approved ROM.

Flash stock recovery.img

Download update.zip for your current rom, extract update.app from it.
Download Huawei Update Extractor, open update.app in HUE.
Rightclick on RECOVERY and click on 'Extract Selected'.

Flash extracted RECOVERY.img using fastboot (fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img)
