I have a question regarding OrangeFox - when I flash a Xiaomi.eu ROM, after the flashing is complete, OrangeFox says "Beginning OrangeFox Process" and then proceeds to flash my boot image as well as vendor/fstab - I have checked in settings and even if I have all options under OTA unchecked, it still does this "OrangeFox Process" - what exactly is it doing to my boot img and vendor partition? TWRP does not have this behavior

To prevent flashed ROM replaces OrangeFox with its recovery

New update available.
R11.0_1
* Fixed decryption in Android 11 and some MIUI
* Enabled turn off screen feature

No you didn't. You need use this: fileencryption=aes-256-xts:aes-256-cts:v2+emmc_optimized+wrappedkey_v0 to bring it up to A11.

It'll work for SOME A11 ROMS and SOME MIUI early releases though.

Just include that, it'll work for all of them so there is no reason not to and I won't have to build my own for my own PE ROM.

So I did that and what a horrid POS this turned out to be.

Back to basics with TWRP for me, OrangeFox is about as intuitive as trying to navigate Glasgow by signs using google translate to read them.

Ok I'll try this. Message me if you are willing to be a tester.

This recovery is really nice imo. It works with Android 11 (I'm on Arrow OS), but only if I set the lock screen to pattern. It did work with pin once and never before, idk what that was... But it works! Thx for the recovery :)

My lock screen is set to a pattern with fingerprint enabled, I have redmi note 8t (willow) but there but be something wrong with encryption, because neither the latest OrangeFox nor TWRP works.

You can't transfer files via mtp or create folders. I tried to install Pixel Plus version https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-official-11-0-stable-ginkgo-willow-pixel-experience.4247435/ after transferring it to an an external sd card which isn't encrypted so it worked, but even though it appears to successfully install it, phone just keeps booting back to recovery

Did anyone try to remove encryption using an old magisk zip file or is it not worth it?

also, can anyone confirm that the willow fix has been added to R11.0_1? This version didn't work for me but I didnt try r11.0

Good morning. I unlocked the bootloader. I went through TWRP and installed OrangeFox. While the display settings are at 100% brightness does not work and works around 20-30%. So it is difficult for me to see the menus and all the options. I put it in High performance and in the other options and unfortunately nothing changed. I reset to the original settings through the option it has and again nothing has changed. I can not understand why this happens. Will you update to version 11.1 for it to be fixed? (If I set TWRP the brightness works normally. Also in PBRP it works normally). But Orange is fading. Any help would be appreciated.

RN8 (Ginkgo) My device.

New update available!
R11.1_1 Beta
* Now supports encryption on all MIUI

Notes:
Doesn't support Android 11's metadata encryption for now. It will stuck at OrangeFox's splash image.

I'm still working on PE and HentaiOS's metadata encryption support. If you have a solution, ping me.

Hmm, just updated to latest version of Miui (12.4.0 EEU) and decrypt function no longer works on TWRP. Tried with this OF beta but did not get any prompts for decrypting.... cannot use it at all... and brightness is still soooo low!

Hello everyone,

is it mandatory to have installed twrp first before the first flash of orangefox on a ginkgo?

I don't get installed orangefox persistent.

On my ginkgo I have already:

1) unlocked bootloader (successfully)
2) booted ginkgo via Power+VolumenUp in recovery mode
3) then flashed orangefox via fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (with success confirmation on screen)
4) then holding power-off and after starting VolumeUp+Power to get instantly into recovery instead android-gui
5) Orangefox showed up > sliding for performing changes
6) then rebooted into android-gui
7) then rebooted into recovery and realized, that orangefox is gone > instead of orangefox there is the xiaomi-recovery

So how do I make sure that orangefox will get installed persistent?
