This is a very old version of TWRP. Switching to the latest official version for Tissot (from official TWRP site) is recommended.

I have same or similar problem. 'fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-0-tissot.img' boots into blank screen- which looks like it is powered off.

But the screen is not entirely dead - I can 'adb shell' to it, and that drops me into root prompt on the phone:

$ adb shell
tissot:/ #

Actualy the latest TWRP recovery for Tissot is Giovix92's one with treble support and Tissot Manager: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...ry-twrp-3-3-1-0-tissot-manager-t3976117/page9

TWRP by Giovix92: Nov 10, 2019
Official TWRP: July 16, 2019
My bad :)

By the way, I often heard an unconfirmed rumor that Giovix's TWRP is buggy. Not know much about the details.

I tried that TWRP one month ago with no apparent problems. Still wondering about the details of the supposed bugs. And has it been fixed or not...

Same problem here: Xiaomi Mi A1 and twrp-3.3.1-0-tissot.img
Can someone please give a feedback about this issue? And moreover can someone tell me how to reboot the phone normally after twrp doesn't boot? Thanks

Tissot (Stock Android 9 Pie): Error using fastboot flash boot twrp.img

I followed the steps to setup TWRP from LineageOS, but cannot flash TWRP to boot or recovery.

Executing "fastboot flash boot twrp.img" gives me "fastboot: error: Couldn't parse partition size '0x'."

Executing "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" gives me:
Sending 'recovery' (30912 KB) OKAY [ 0.742s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: 'partition table doesn't exist')
fastboot: error: Command failed

Please help

---
EDIT: found the solution. Due to a bug in flashboot, "fastboot flash boot twrp.img" was trying to flash the nonexistent partition "boot__a" instead of the correctly named "boot_a". Changing the command to "fastboot flash boot_a twrp.img" solved my problem and i could succesfully continue with installing LinageOS 17.1 on my Xiaomi Mi A1

I've got a big issue where by trying to flash Twrp after unlocking the bootloader I somehow made this phone do endless boot loops. I flashed "temp" Twrp a couple of times but now that won't work either and I'm left only with fastboot menu after pressing power+downvolume. Any radical ideas here guys? Thanks

Hey brother, how did you manage to root this phone? No rom can be flashed without rooting it, right?

Hey Bombastc, sad to hear you are experiencing problems. I never rooted my Xiaomi Mi A1, the only thing I did was unlocking the bootloader as described in the "Install LineageOS on tissot" section of the LinageOS Wiki

I don't know more about your problem, the only I issue I had was with the wrong partition name boot__a instead of boot_a

Hi everyone,
I could use some help: I'm on the last stock rom and wanted to try something new so I folowed the guides everything went fine until booting the TWRP - the touch control is messed up, cannot do anything (in TWRP, works fine on the stock rom). tried to google up solution, found nothing. tried different versions of TWRP - same results (3.3.1 up) or not working at all (older).
any ideas welcomed ;o)

Change and replace all the filename using only twrp. It runs properly! I had the same issue

Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

    whats working?

    • [*]All paritions are mounting
[*] Can change Slot A/ Slot B on twrp its self
      [*]Everything as usual.. (Backup/restore)
[*]recovery booting after rebooting to system also :)
      [*]sdcard working
      [*] USB-OTG working
[*] Add system_image mount point to flash system images
      [*] Add update_engine_sideload

    Instructions:
    Steps:
    • Download required files from downloads
    • Unlock your bootloader( u must be unrooted)
    • Reboot to bootloader
    • fastboot boot recovery-xx.img
    • Boot into Recovery
    • Change Partition slot using twrp[Reboot--> Change_Slot]
(for example, if you're in slot A, change it to Slot B and Vice versa)
    • flash twp-installer.zip
    • Flash Magisk{Use Latest} for Root Access(If Neccessary)
    • Success

Workaround: As pixel devices come up with A/B partition, its quite similar to our device and we use of them to get root access.
thanks to @goodwin_c and @ravinder0003 for testing
