Did u flash correctly? You should choose recovery box and not boot to properly flash it. That's why appears the download mode screen.
If it was that,it wouldnt work if i just flashed the previous recovery back. And it just looks like download mode,but it isnt. It shows odin mode up left but in the middle shows galaxy j5 logo.
It works perfectly for me in my J500m. Maybe if you are able to save logs from twrp to see that issue....

Twrp saves logs only on external sd card. My sd card is nearly dead i think,because 1 month ago it turned read only(cant even format it).

That device is not (officially) upported. However, you may try flashing one of the images on your device. It may or may not work for you.

Hi, its been sometime since I downloaded or flashed anything on my phone. I am trying to flash tWRP but I keep getting a fail message. I am using Odin and the phone is not rooted. I wanted a quick flash, but I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Untick auto reboot when android is restarted sometimes it reverts back to the old recovery. Untick auto reboot and when the download is finished take out the battery. Personally I don't like this method what I do is hold power and vol down to restart and when the phone restarts hold vol up, power button and home to enter recovery. Hope this helps

Anyway of getting twrp to recognise files on a device with adoptable storage enabled.
On my j500f this version of twrp recognises the sd card as basically empty while on version from like last September it recognises all files on the sd card. It only ever happened since like the march update of twrp
