I could not install update through OTA. Druing installation my phone threw some "crash reports" for some apps then settings app crashed and I could not complete the installation.

Some users were able to do so However it is always recommended to install via recovery.

My way after crash ota-update:

- new evolutionx-rom with lineage-recovery: stopped in flash part1 with error: ota certificates
- as a result phone stopped on android one start-screen, repair with service-rom (@nullby) via mi-flash-tool
- so i new install lineage-recovery and boot images over fastboot-mode phone and adb on pc
(powershell win11 switch to cmd with "cmd")
with error message: FAILED (remote: (recovery_b) No such partition)
my slot is b: fastboot getvar current-slot
solution adb-command: fastboot flash boot_b LineageRecovery-20210409.img
and adb-command: fastboot flash boot_b boot.img

then the new evolutionx-rom via recovery (sdcard1) and then factory reset and boot in new os.

The new rom feels like more liquid than the "old" rom. Thanks to the developers.

Status bar - gives almost every info you want
Quick settings panel icons - has almost everything you need
All apps tray - nice
Google Play certified - yes
Banking apps - working, I checked Google pay
Notifications - working need more time
Calling - haven't checked yet
Battery backup - looks nice and good, need more time
Charging speed - looks nice and good, need more time, is showing charging rapidly while charging with original mi 10 waat charger
All apps are up to date

-Boot into fastboot mode (Press and hold Volume down and Power button at the same time for 3 or more seconds)
-Connect phone with pc via USB cable
-Flash lineageOS recovery img Type - "fastboot flash boot <recovery.img>" and Press enter
-Boot into recovery Type - "fastboot reboot" and Press enter at the exact same time
-Do factory reset
-Navigate to apply update
-Use SDcard OR apply from adb sideload rom Type - "adb sideload <rom.zip>"

prerequisite for everything:
usb-debugging is on (you come from
manufacturer-android -> in developer options phone)
and on phone is not a start-screen-lock

at first: you install usb-driver for xiaomi mi a3 and Android SDK Platform Tools on pc

now you can execute the adb-commands on pc with connected phone in fastboot-mode

recovery.img + boot.img + evolutionx.zip you find in the first post #1 of this thread

recovery.img and boot.img copy in folder "adb"
and folder "adb" to root of windows drive "C" -> now you can start powershell or cmd (as a admin) for adb-commands to flash recovery.img and boot.img to phone
then the rest of steps from #648

Only one thing is not available in the ROM which is preventing me to flash it that is "volume steps" in Button menu. I'm happily using Cherish OS.

The mic gain is low not only in whatsapp but in general.

The camera works only at 1x and 2x (no wide angle) and only at 12 MP max (quality is lower than original).

I noticed also few bugs in the reTicker notification system:
- the incoming call notification goes away as a common notification making answering uneasy
- when receiving whatsapp messages the name of the sender appears twice

The system style colors are not very customizable, the suggested combos are not the best, this could be an improvement for future releases.

I have installed the latest release (clean install because update via OTA was not possible):
- the mic gain is better but still lower than other phones
- camera still works only at 12 MP (instead of 48MP)
- camera uses only the main sensor but not the other 2 (solved with BigKaka's GCam 8.4)

I appreciate the more customizability of the system colors

Hello Everyone!

I try to install the latest ROM, but I had MIUI 12.5 from XDA.
So I got an error in recovery when I start it:

I guess my partitions are not correct. Maybe somehow I have to convert back my MI A3 to stock image with stock partition size.

For me it works just fine. The only minor issue is the missing dialtone when switching on VoLTE or VoWIFI. With both options off, the dialtone is audible.

Altogether a very good ROM, a big thank you to the development team.
