Could you allow the H910 to be installed on a H910PR ?
I believe it should be the same w/ no issues, I'm willing to test it.

Currently its blocked from installing due to recognizing its not the 'correct' variant..

Lemme

Lemme know how it works
I ran into a kernel panic issue and wasn't sure how to proceed

however I eventually was able to figure out a way to fix a different kernel panic (modem crash) that I was getting with lineage OS

I was able to flash lineage - and then used a DUMP from LGUP to flash my stock modem over lineage via fastboot & that resolved my kernel panic for lineage

I turned this into a guide as there's very little to no info on the H910PR variant, but it actually has the perfect frequency coverage for my carrier in the USA (Mint Mobile here).

SMS isn't working for me on the H990DS. I'm unable to receive and send. Trying to create a conversation using com.google.android.apps.messaging (or any other app) fails with a messages like "Couldn't create conversation".

I attached a logcat from opening Messaging up to trying to create a conversation. It seems to have to do an incorrect sqlite db version. Any ideas?

EDIT: nvm :). I removed the `mmssms` database in ` /data/user_de/0/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/`

Clean install of latest+gapps on H918. Seems to run fine, but major problem: can not install apps from unknown sources, the "allow from this source" switch does not respond. Any suggestions?

Edit: similar problem with clean install of 07-27-2021 Vanilla. I was able to install ONE app from Files, but no response to the "install" button for other apps in Files. Has anyone else tried this on the latest releases?

If I go to Settings/Apps & Notifications/Permission manager: nothing responds to touch.

Odd, nobody else has reported an issue like this so not too sure why you're experiencing this, is it happening on older builds?

Clean install of LighthouseOS-Raft-UNOFFICIAL-h918-20210612-0217-GAPPS.zip: no problem with authorizing app installs. So I tried another clean install of LighthouseOS-Raft-UNOFFICIAL-h918-20210731-0208-GAPPS.zip and now I could authorize app installs.

I had originally performed a dirty install of 20210731 over 20210612, which must have corrupted something.

Thanks for the response.

Been using this for a couple of days and phone feels really fast, coming from Alpha Omega Oreo this is night and day!

Installed using twrp-3.5.2_9-0-h910:
- wiped system, data, dalvik and cache
- flashed nougat to get the fingerprint working
- wiped system, data, dalvik and cache again
- flashed LighthouseOS-Raft-UNOFFICIAL-h910-20210727-1703-VANILLA.zip
- flashed Magisk 23.0
- flashed latest stable gamma kernel from telegram (lge_msm8996_gamma-h910_2021-03-20-00.zip h910 GAMMA AOSP Eva GCC 11.0.1 20210318) just use included kernel for better thermals
- flashed nikgapps core, plus some additional google apps

Everything has been working smoothly so far, though it feels like it gets really hot during heavy usage, maybe hotter than with my latest rom, though it might be just a feeling while installing all the apps etc... maybe it's time for some thermal pad treatment...

What do you use as camera app? Can you recommend a good Gcam port + settings.xml that works well with this rom?

Ah, yea gamma is the reason for the heat issue, once you flash gamma, the op3 thermals and underclock are gone, on top of that you switch over to the 15.1 kernel source which is very outdated compared to the latest modified 18.1 kernel source i use, on top of that you loose some patches made by npj and the lineage team such as the kernel side camera patches, etc. Solution to the heat issue would be flashing the rom again(dirty flash works fine). Gamma is a great kernel however, I don't recommend it for those planning to use it for their daily for the reasons mentioned above

Thanks, that makes sense, reflashed to use lhos kernel.

I'm getting very slow access to external sd though, if I configure Open Camera to save photos to external sd (through SAF), it takes like 5-10 seconds from the moment I open the app to the moment when I can take a picture. Accesing the DCIM/Camera folder on external SD with FX File Explorer (where I have like 70G of photos/videos) also takes quite some seconds before it even shows a list of the files, it use to be way faster with Oreo. I think this is an Android 11 "feature" related to changes in storage, right? Any way to improve this?

Can another Gapps zip be flashed to the LS997 while I'm waiting for the LS997 Gapps to be uploaded? Or are they all specific to the model of V20? I'd imagine they are specific to the model you have.

Project Lighthouse is a custom rom with an objective to keep things as smooth and optimized as possible , but without missing out on features that everyone loves , including pixel goodies , but with the option of building as vanilla as well.
