"Official" Rooted Image for TCL RT51/RT2851/BeyondTV (Android 9) Plattform

Copy img to usb pen, turn off TV, long hold of power button.. It started instsllation.. We will see when its finished... Now im see "please do not turn of the power!" and some kind of loading bar runs again and aggain.. And notification led rapidly flashing.

Edit: tv now rebooted and im see Thomson logo, now android tv loading screen.. It now a few minutes and i still see android tv start screen animation, but i reqd it can take a while, i will just let it go and will see.

Edit2: after few minutes, TV started.. now setting up.. I have installed file from first post.. I cant wait..

it worked well, faster than my old android tv before.. i now installed

a new pre rooted image appeared called "TestUpdate" , I tested it and it works - first boot takes a while. but beware, you can break your Tv with this image. I dont take any responsible for any Damage it causes. Only use it if you know what...

I will try android11, but is there any big difference?

Is there any way edit IMG file? Its any kind of disc image/archive, is there way extract it, remove some bloatware and compress is again into usable img file? But im almost sure thre is any fingerprint protection inside that will dissallow it, right?

You can open IMG file no problem ,but not sure, if you change something will works again.

And what if i "brick" tv? It can still be restored by using img from here and usb stick, or it need another process..?

Usually IMG file (original) called also "recovery firmware" .....
On your place ,I wan't change anything inside.

I wanna.. There is alot of unused installed software in this image (some dependant on country, region..) i wanna try lightweight it a bit.

Has anyone checked if the bootloader is unlocked? Just need to extract the boot.img from your rom file (the Update.img file is a simple tar file) and try one of the following:

fastboot boot boot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img

If it boots, than it's unlocked. If it fails, you can just reboot and nothing is changed.
If it were unlocked, we could compile a twrp build and root with Magisk.

If you know your TV firmware version, then can see support or not.
Latest is R114, on previous page.
Other,older versions, I think links are already death.

Edit:
So far there will be no more custom firmwares, as TCL abandon/block they servers.

This all here is custom Android 9.
You have normal firmware with Android 11, in other thread......V677...and latest V701.

Btw,
I tested R114 and running well, now I am on V701... ..Android 11.

It's not rooted , but R firmware is posted R074 and R090 (T615T01) on telegram...
