Official Samsung Rugged Case vs. Otterbox Commuter

After a lot of reading and viewing of YouTube videos, I think I'm narrowing my rugged case choice down to either the Samsung Rugged Case with Kickstand or the good ol' Otterbox Commuter (the UAG Monarch is still also in contention, but I'm in a business environment most of the time and I'm a bit concerned about the looks of the Monarch).

Does anyone who has thoughts or experience with one or both have any feedback that might help sway a person in one direction or the other? I like the kickstand option of the Samsung, but its protectiveness obviously hasn't been tested as much as Otterbox's, and the lip seems lower too.

Would really appreciate any input or advice.

Thanks!

I went to Best Buy and tried out the Samsung case and I liked it. Its rugged and slim and feels good. I already bought another case that's why I did not get it. But I am thinking about getting it.

I like the Samsung Rugged case, but this case is not wireless charging friendly. It works, but the phone and the case get very hot. Some have reported that after 30 min the phone stops charging.

I take it that you are both satisfied with the level of protection provided by the case? Think it's good enough to guard the screen against drops? Unfortunately, I cannot personally try out the case prior to purchase, so I'm very grateful for feedback on it.

No worries about wireless charging, as I don't plan to use the feature (don't want the battery to degrade due to the generated heat). But I appreciate the info just same.

I have the samsung official rugged and simply love it. Not too bulky but obviously excellent protection. Feels good in the hand, rather elegant for a rugged case,... Not using wireless so I don't care either.
