Exact same thing happened to me, and i did the same format data to fix it, I thought it was my fault somehow.
I will stay unrooted for now in order to use fingerprint and since Safetynet check was failing for me anyway ever since the server side change from Google

OK, got it. You have got to flash magisk canary update via twrp/ofox, than you won't get issues.

Using it on my Master Edition with LOS without any problems.

How to use F2FS​

- boot to OrangeFox,
- go to 'Manage partitions'
- select 'data', change filesystem, f2fs,
- select 'cache', change filesystem, f2fs,
- now go to Settings > General and tick 'Use rm -rf instead of formatting',
- now format data(always make sure 'Use rm -rf instead of formatting' is enabled before you format data or your data will be formatted back to ext4),
- enjoy...

Is the magisk function new? First time I've seen it in a recovery. It ****ing saved my life when I flashed viper4android and then got stuck on bootloop. Luckily I saw the magisk function in the recovery, deleted the module and it worked fine again.

You have to flash the first three and it will work for you, unzip the rar and then flash the first three inside

Viper sucks, JamesDSP is way better. And you have magisk module, so it doesn't make such a issues...
