Although EUR CSC is a part of the OXM multi-csc, it still confuses me why it hasnt took the QG5 update via OTA

Do they cherry-pick the countries?

PS. Before going nuts and screaming at me, that I should use the Odin to update to the latest, I just made a question. I know that I can use Odin

The updates are roled out in phases... CSC by CSC. not all at once. and not even all CSCs in a Multi-CSC do get every Software version via OTA or SmartSwitch.

Yes unfortunately they do.
Samsung is very slow with rolling out updates for some CSCs.

I just got used to Odin flashing every update that comes out instead of waiting for the OTA to be released on my CSC.

Forgive my ignorance but I currently have an unlocked UK s8+, I flashed the BTU firmware from sammobile but it started in German until i changed language and was showing as DBT firmware. I flashed CSC and not home if that helps.
What did I do wrong?

My aim is just to flash updated firmware as it's released rather than wait for 02 UK who were my original carrier

Download the phone info Samsung app and post a screenshot of the CSC tab.

Did you have a UK SIM card in the device when you flashed it?

That seems to be the CSC for the O2-UK ROM.

Sent from my Pixel XL

I originally bought the phone on 02 contract but have since unlocked it and I'm running EE SIM in it. How do I go about running BTU software on it rather than rely on 02 to update the phone?

Appreciate the help

Download any AQG5 ROM wirh the OXM CSC.
Power off your device, make sure the EE SIM is inserted, go to recovery, do a factory reset. Boot to download mode, flash the entire ROM including the CSC file (not home CSC), then do a reset in recovery again, and reboot your phone.
Once you start up and go through the setup screen, you should be on EVR (EE's CSC) or BTU/XEU (Unlocked UK CSC).

Flash the full firmware package from here with the CSC_OXM not the HOME_CSC_OXM.
This WILL factory reset your device!
Your CSC should then change to BTU/XEU IF you have your SIM inside the phone while flashing.

Thank you both^^
So to be clear I can use the firmware in this thread as it's included in the OXM firmware and the only difference will be my CSC will differ?

Thanks for your patience. I've been away from android for a while and this has changed from my last Samsung.

    Latest Firmware Multi-CSC OXM

This ROM is the latest ROM for Multi-CSC OXM released 21 feb 18, and can be used for ALL CSC's mentioned in Multi-CSC OXM!
This is official Samsung ROM, so KNOX won't be triggered!

Change CSC for i.e. use Samsung Pay

Your data will stay intact, but it's possible you get "com.android.***** has stopped" -> Then a Factory Reset is needed (in Recovery)!

    What's new:
    * Android 8.0.0
    * February security patches (Samsung Android Security Updates)
Samsung Experience 9.0 upgrade with Android Oreo

Samsung Experience 9.0 brings you Android Oreo, with exciting new features from Samsung and Google based on feedback from users like you.

We recommend that you back up your important data to keep it safe during the upgrade.
Some apps, including Samsung Pay, Samsung Internet, Samsung Notes, and Email, should be updated individually before you can update your OS.

    Here’s what’s new.

    Biometrics
To improve your security, features that use biometrics (face, fingerprints, and irises) are only available when you use a secure screen lock type (pattern, PIN, or password). When you switch to a non-secure screen lock type (Swipe or None), biometric authentication is suspended for unlocking and for verification in apps like Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass. If you're using biometrics now without a secure screen lock type, you'll be able to continue after the upgrade, but changing to a secure screen lock type is recommended.

    Quick Panel
    - Manage notifications for each app with notification categories (supported apps only).
    - Icons will be shown at the bottom of the notification panel for notifications that aren't currently visible.

    Home Screen
    - Touch and hold an app to display shortcuts to common or recommended tasks within the app (supported apps only).
    - Notification badges on app icons are linked with the notification panel. Clear a notification in one location, and it will also be cleared in the other location.

    Samsung Keyboard
    - The toolbar gives quick access to useful functions.
    - The GIF keyboard lets you send GIFs.
    - More high-contrast keyboards are available.

    System Performance
    - Background services are limited to improve performance and battery life.
    - Currently running apps will always be shown in the notification panel.

    Edge screen
    - Improved font size, color, and other settings for better Edge panel visibility.
    - Touch and hold the Edge panel handle to change its position.
    - Added 3 more Edge lighting effects and color customization for apps.

Lock Screen and Always On Display
    - New clock styles for the Lock screen and Always On Display.
    - Adjust the transparency of notifications to get the look you want.

    Smart View
    - Let your phone's screen go dark when mirroring to another screen.

    Samsung account
    - Control your account settings and profile information for multiple apps.
    - Tap your profile picture on the main Settings page to access your profile information and account settings.

    Samsung Cloud
    - View and manage photos and notes stored only in Samsung Cloud.
    - Store any type of file in Samsung Cloud Drive.
    - Select specific items to delete or restore from your backups.
    - See how big each backup is and how many items it contains.

    Samsung Dual Messenger
    - Install a second copy of a messaging app so you can use two accounts at the same time. For apps that verify accounts using phone numbers, you'll need a different phone number for each account.
    - Touch and hold a messaging app on the Home or Apps screen to install the second account or go to Settings - Advanced features - Dual Messenger.

    Find My Mobile
    - Back up Secure Folder to Samsung Cloud remotely when your phone is lost.
    - Lock Samsung Pass using Find My Mobile.

    Samsung DeX
    - See more apps at once by changing the app list view to full-screen.
    - Use Game launcher in Samsung DeX for a full-screen gaming experience.
    - Added support for 2 additional Samsung covers (LED View Cover, Clear View Standing Cover).

    Other improvements
    - Bluetooth now supports high-quality audio codecs, including AAC and Sony LDAC.
    - Video player includes auto repeat and 2x speed option.
    - Voice Recorder provides smart tips to conveniently block calls while recording.
    - Email lets you flag Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync emails.
    - Samsung Health's new sticky notification lets you see your step count at a glance.
    - Clock now includes a Landscape mode and timer sound options.
    - The digital clock widget goes directly to the Clock app when you tap it.
    - Samsung Pass added the ability to manage usernames and passwords in third-party apps.

Change CSC for i.e. use Samsung Pay

First of all: this thread is about "Firmware updates" and NOT about "How to change CSC for use Samsung Pay"!

Those questions are considered to be OFF-TOPIC!

    1. If your CURRENT CSC is part of the Multi-CSC OXM (i.e. TTT & AFG), it's IMPOSSIBLE to flash i.e. BTU and/or XSG-firmware to get that CSC because BTU & XSG are also part of the OXM Multi-CSC! If you flash those FW, your CSC WON'T CHANGE!
    2. Product-code of your device CAN'T BE CHANGED!

But, there's a "slight chance" you can have "Samsung Pay", if you have an "ORIGINAL SIM" from an UNBRANDED OPERATOR (i.e. "British Telecom" for BTU).
    When you've i.e. the BT-SIM:

    A. POWER-OFF your device, SIM-CARD holder out of your device
    B. RESET your device in the recovery (VolUp-Bixby-Power)
    C. Put NEW SIM (i.e. British Telecom) in your device and POWER-ON
    D. Follow the instructions on your screen

If everything's OK, your device will use i.e. the BTU/XEU CSC now, and possibly "Samsung Pay" will be available

NOTE: you'll NEVER get Samsung Pay if KNOX has been triggered!
