Where did I say: this CSC gives PHN? Nowhere!

The firmware-package is for ALL CSC's in OXM the same: there are NO separate firmwares anymore for i.e. PHE, PHN etc...

If your phone has the PRODUCT-code PHE (UNbranded Spain) and you flash the package I posted here, your CSC will stay PHE and will NOT change to PHN
Sorry you posted (post 1) '' The main file, is made for the Netherlands (CSC=PHN) ''
According to sammobile forum, if you flash CSC from the actual multi CSC avaible, it give XEU.
( i don't know if direct link to sammobile is authorized ... )

You better look what you wrote...
to go into Download Mode you have to press Power + Bixby + Vol down
for recovery it is Power + Bixby + Vol up
This guy is true lol ^^

I saw it and removed -> tks
Hi Henk,
I bought a new Galaxy s8+ with Vodafone firmware on Marktplaats (getting it today) and i want to flash the PHN firmware with Odin.
Is the correct procedure:
- Enable usb debugging on the phone and enable pin unlock
- Install Smart Switch for the usb drivers and Odin on the PC
- Download and extract the PHN rom, and load/flash BL, AP, CP and Home_CSC in Odin with the phone in download mode
- Factory reset in recovery mode
- Done.

Why will changing the CSC file void warranty as it is original firmware?
Is there an advantage when switching to PHN as i`am using T-Mobile or can i just stay with the VDF firmware?

Yeh I'd like to know this, too. I picked up an S8+ today which is locked to Vodafone UK, so has some Vodafone as the Service Provider Software and their apps. But i want to be able to get the latest updates when they're released by Samsung, not wait for Vodafone to roll them out. I'm guessing I need a BTU firmware?

USB-debugging is not necessary, all other things are correct...

BUT: I hate to tell you, that it's NOT possible to get your phone to PHN.

PHN is part of the Multi-CSC OXM (many European CSC's are placed in this one).
If you flash your phone with PHN-firmware, it'll take the 1st CSC available in OXM, and what I understood this is XEU.

Furthermore: if you want to change a CSC on your phone, you've to use CSC, NOT HOME_CSC -> this will result in a reset of your device!

Tip: Flash the latest VDF (Vodafone Netherlands)-firmware on your phone (here you can use the HOME_CSC): at least all the functions (like VoLTE & VoWiFi will work on your device!)

I'm not sure I completely understand. So just to clarify, it doesn't matter what firmware I flash, but I will always go to XEU? I'm in the UK and a bit confused by it all really as I've never really done much with my Samsungs as they've usually been unbranded. Essentially I can flash the AP BL CP & CSC_OXM from any firmware and it will most likely XEU?

Do *#1234# in the dialer. If you see OXM in the CSC, you must flash BL AP CP & HOME_CSC_OXM

I have OVF, vf I'm guessing is for Vodafone. What do I have to do now? Does this mean that I can just flash any firmware instead?
OVF is indeed "Vodafone"-branded

You could flash this firmware, but you'll have to use AP BL CP & CSC_OXM which will result in a reset of your device!
Your device CSC will be XEU afterwards instead of VOD. I'm not sure, if VoLTE and/or VoWiFi will work on your Vodafone-network afterwards.

You could also wait till the update is made available by Vodafone UK

So once flashing with a different CSC (like vodafone) means you can NEVER go back to PHN ?
Because the code will be automatically set to XEU ?

Maybe this still works ?
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-change-csc-in-samsung-galaxy-phones/

Open your phone’s dialer and type the following code with your device IMEI number: *#272*Phone’s IMEI Here#
You can find your phones IMEI number on a white sticker beneath phone’s battery.
You will see a pop-up screen with a list of CSC codes.
Select the CSC that you want and tap on “Install”.
Your phone will be reboot automatically.
Congrats! Your Samsung Galaxy phone’s CSC has been changed successfully.

I'm not sure in this one Arjan and I won't try-out either!

I read posts, that some Vodafone UK (VOD) users succesfully flashed OXM firmware on their device (using CSC_OXM), and in "Software Info" in the "Software serviceprovider"-part, they saw "XEU XEU VOD"

On "our phone" it's "PHN PHN PHN"

I assume in "XEU XEU VOD", "VOD" is referring to the "product-code" of the device, so if they flash the "OVF"-firmware again, they will get the "VOD"-CSC back from the Multi-CSC "OVF"...

But: I'm not gonna try-out... ;)

Ref your link: that method is not possible anymore; I thought the only way to change CSC is, if your device is rooted (but am not sure in this one either)

Well I want to move from Vodafone to put my EE UK sim card inside, so I don't care about the volte/volt WiFi. My ee branded s7 only got 7.0 last month for example which is something I want to avoid happening again. I just bought this s8+ off a friend at a knocked down price assuming it would be unbranded as it wasn't from Vodafone directly, however that's not the case. So I just want to get it back to an unbranded state like we could with the s7 phones to get updates as soon
as they're released. But if seems like that's not possible?

Ques: When you put in your "EE UK"-SIM in your S8+, does your phone function with than SIM-card?

When not: your phone is CARRIER LOCKED to Vodafone!

When it functions with your "EE UK"-SIM inserted, you can flash the firmware in my "update message", use AP BL CP and CSC_OXM
Your phone will reset afterwards, and the CSC will be XEU
