Official release

I was called the guys from lg romania and i was asking about release date of the official rom and they told me that is in july but if i want to do this earlier is neccesary to send my phone to lg service to upgrade.So I think that this is the official version:)

Someone in italy should try service center. May be they are having the firmware and tools as well. It's just online update that they are streamlining.

How to root P500 2.3.3

How to root Gingerbreak RU version 2.3.3 on P500
(Tools required to install rom: LGMDP THUNDER P500.rar, LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN32AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3. 2.1.exe and the Youtube Guide )
ROOT
1. Disable anti-virus software, firewalls
2. Download Archive Root for 2.3 [LG-P500.RU]. Rar
3. Connect a USB LG Optimus One
4. Enable USB troubleshooting. To do this, go to Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Debugging USB. Put a check mark.
5. Unpack the archive to any folder on your computer.
6. Go to file ADB
7. Cmd exe file starts. (XP - cmdXP.exe for 7 - cmd7.exe)
8. Enter the following commands at a time (after each command press Enter)
do not write! Copy-Paste (Right mouse click, paste)

adb devices
adb shell
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf


9. Reboot the device manually (stop then start)
10. Go to our file, unpack and run SuperOneClick.exe
11. The Exploit GingerBreak choose, and then press the Push Root
12. To answer all questions Yes
13. Reboot the device manually (stop then start)
14. Look in the menu icon superuser
If not, then try to Unroot, then reboot and then re-do everything.

First of all there should be no " " after /. Much like this "/data/local/lge_adb.conf" otherwise you get an error.

Second, for me superoneclick gets stuck at Running GingerBreak.
Tried many times and nothing new.

EDIT : It worked after a few searches.
you must write this way : "echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf"
reboot and superoneclick works fine.

EDIT 2: To get root privileges you must update superuser. (market).\

There is no need to go this deep for root.

Just uncheck the recovery in lgmdp while flashing if you already have a custom recovery installed.

If you don't have a custom recovery installed, you can replace it with custom recovery image in the LG folder where you unzipped the rom.

This way after flashing the official rom, one can download ginger lol and go to recovery to flash it. You will have a good rooted rom.

we all are waiting for the original sources for lg gingerbread so that mik and andy can make their rom better.

And i don't see only the people from mik and andy's country using their ROM.

Their ROM is used by people from different country. So your comment is irrelevant.... Hope You agree...:D ;)

Official update released

Android Version 2.3.3
Comp. Number GRI40
LG-P500-V20g.
Found it by mistake after a downgrade to 2.1. Was trying to get back my original 2.2.2. After it finished the update i sow it. The official 2.3.3.
Gonna try root now
