The dumb HTC One Max just got an official kit kat. And it came out months after. Come on Verizon you strait up suck. Times like this and the bootloader is when i wish t-mobile had a decent network. I can't make a call from my house in Charlotte NC if using T-Mobile.

I sort of don't mind Verizon delaying kit kat update as long as bugs are minimal when it does release!

I wonder if KitKat is taking so long on this phone because it has an SD Card? This is my first phone with an SD Card since many many many years. I use FolderMount to offload about 6-10GB of static data to the SD Card - gigs of pics, Economist magazines, 4GB of Google Play books, and gigs of Google cached music.

I'm reading that it just takes a simple hack to open the SD card up again on 4.4.2. But losing SD card access won't kill me. I have 23GB of free space on internal memory. Just makes no sense not to use the 64GB SD card imo. :)

Seeing how many problems my Nexus 7 had with 4.4 - I'm glad they're waiting. 4.4.2 is still kinda buggy and nowhere near the battery life of 4.3 (on my Nexus 7). My Moto X was ruined by 4.4 (bluetooth volume went to max no matter what you did, battery life was cut in half, etc...).

I just read this today - what do you guys think of this?

http://www.thewestsidestory.net/2014/04/04/samsung-galaxy-s4-note-3-get-android-kitkat-4-4-3-update/

So we might just get 4.4.3?

Edit: Meanwhile, I'm in no rush - happily running Eclipse Rom. Never thought I'd be this happy rooted...

I had T-Mobile in high school (99-2003) and yes... those of us with Verizon know we're getting raped... but at least we're getting something while being raped (better than average reception, network speed, etc...) which is why we stick with Verizon - for now.

lol.

I jumped ship to the HTC one m8 and it's unlocked and s off already. With a permanent root. This phone is smaller in size but the build quality alone is worth the switch of the daily driver.

I have made the switch to the m8 as well. Because of the bootloader mainly. Not huge fan of touchwiz so thought I'd try sense again. Definitely some cool features on this. Camera is probly better on the note 3 thought. And I miss the size of note 3

Honestly if the delay on getting Kit Kat is due to waiting for 4.4.3 then I am perfectly fine with that. I can wait a bit longer. No rush.

I bet this whole delay is on Verizon wanting to release the Galaxy S5 first, allow others to be out for awhile and then release a 4.4.2 update for the Note 3. I doubt they are going to be nice enough to make us wait and then give us an updated KitKat 4.4.3. I would imagine that there will be a day one update for the Galaxy S5 tomorrow, that Verizon has put to the front instead of the Note 3, then they will probably push an update a few days later for the Note and then the S5 will probably be the first Samsung phone on Verizon to get the 4.4.3 update in a few months. Then maybe Verizon could be the first to push it for the Note 3 on all carriers. Probably not, but it never hurts to wish.

Very logical...from what my corporate rep and local store are telling me, preorders are slow on the s5. Kind of sad they feel the need to give away a free phone with the purchase of the latest and greatest phone.

Less ram. Nothing special added. I see no reason to go from GS4 or N3 to Gs5. N3 was huge upgrade. This isn't. Now if you really want them to sell offer an option to unlock the bootloader at your own risk!

Now there's an idea...

The main difference that stands out to me in the Snapdragon 801 SoC is the reduced power draw and new power management chip. You should see moderately better battery life. That's about it.

Doesn't my note 3 have a bigger battery?

So the Droid DNA is getting 4.4.2. lol. I swear my next phone is going to be a Nexus phone. I shouldn't have to root my phone to make it usable and remove adware on a device I buy. Sucks cuz Verizon has the best reception where I live.
