Yes I used the fix.zip method then downloaded the update and update installed no issues. I also sent countless hours trying to get the update and not passing 27%.
How did you rewrite the files? Is it possible to upload the files you rewrote and upload them in a zip? If it worked that way it would be grateful and awesome.

---------- Post added at 09:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:53 PM ----------

I might need to clear this up further.

I can not change permissions on the "fix.zip" method, how ever I was able to change the file permissions on other files for the "feature.xml" method. The error message I am getting is tmp/update.zip (7) message, I have no idea what in the hell is going on and I am getting more and more confused as I keep changing files in my phone...

Head ---> Wall ---> Coma due to trying an early build.
I can thank my self for that... How ever.. . I would like to keep root but... I would rather have this speed instead.

If you check your system bin and make sure ddexe is not replaced by the ddexe_real. After that check to make sure system/xbin has the dexdump file. If not get it here.
Next make sure all your system apps are there and not frozen. If you dont have ADB installed get it here

Then make sure that you have the update zip. I am uploading it now. I am also uploading a stock dump for those that need files that they deleted. I will update this post with links to them. The easy method is to boot into recovery. Choose adb to update. Connect the phone. Make sure you have the update zip in your adb folder under C: and type adb sideload "name of zip".zip.
Ok here is the update.zip
once pushed to the phone if you get a error install the file it errors on. :good:

I honestly don't care about tripping my knox counter. I paid full price for the phone and will be paying full price for my next phone regardless..........

Possible I have a bad OTA update file? The only thing I could have possibly deleted was the
feature xml file. but there was two of them and I just renamed it to f.xml.

I have the dde file and dexdump file, I have changed some things and Ill check for an error message.

Only reason I ask is I work for AT&T and don't have anything like that. I don't know if it's something they give different stores or what not, but we don't have anything like that at our store.
Corporate stores have systems to help push the file and fix any errors that are in the way. It is basically a smart system for phones... How ever going in with a custom or rooted phone could cost you a warranty issue.

For some reason i could not flash the update on the SD card. The only method that worked was adb. Plus when you use the adb method it does not wipe the phone. Makes it much easier to find and fix all the files you need.

Feature.xml is my issue, can anyone upload their feature files both of them? I keep getting feature.xml has unexpected content...

That does suck...

How ever I am fixing my errors one by one but apparently early on in my mission I had made a mistake and misplaced the wrong "feature.xml" file. I fixed other errors and now I am down to this one... Hopefully after I get this file it will be the last of it.

My Best Buy does not have KK yet. Factory reset no help. I was rooted; unrooted via SU; still no joy. My wife's Note 3 updated first time; hers is a newer phone but hers failed to get MJ5 to NB4 when that came out. Samsung people at Best Buy said it was because mine is black and hers white, which I DO NOT believe.

Guys! No BestBuy or AT&T store will have kitkat yet. The best they can do is flash your phone to MJ5, maybe NB4.

KK is OTA only at this time.

I have been through the painful process of side loading for the past 6 hours replacing file by file. I owe many thanks @smokeystack76. I have achieved 4.4(i believe)

ADB Installation is now completed and I am waiting on boot. I will post my method later for you all!

Now on official 4.4 KitKat.

No need for that, I just went through all the methods and found the best one... I do not make many posts, I mainly surf threads and then panic when it comes crunch time. How ever I will post my method later.

I would have suggested that you ask them to flash your phone to NB4 (or even MJ5, which would almost immediately update to NB4), but after seeing from your post that they sent the village idiot to take over the kiosk, that might not work, since he might not understand what a cellphone is.

Once they get you to NB4, if you don't get the KK update, you can go to updates and pull it OTA, or you can download it from Mega (links are posted all over the thread) and sideload it with adb. (Their flashing tool ignores all the errors caused by the things we do and rams the stock ROM down the phone's throat.)

I'm saying that so people will stop posting about how their BB doesn't have KK. It's flooding this thread with useless text.

None of them do.

For those that deleted bloatware and what not. I have a full system dump here!
That will help with any files you need.
