I don't know what the official kitkat has that the leaked kitkat does not have
Stability. BT is a lot better. I have a Gear and connect to my car. They'd fight sometimes on the leak including me not being able to hear/speak occasionally. I'd get FC's getting out of the car sometimes too when the BT connection shut down. All that's gone now. The standard APN (vs. VoLTE) is back too. Battery life's about the same as the leak, maybe a little better. Both are better than what I was experiencing on 4.3. Oh, and let's not forget the all important white battery icon. ;)

Ok, somebody knows if this ota update is possible if I live outside of US?

I have 4.3 root de la vega and now I want update, I know, I need to downgrade and unroot the phone but I want to know if the ota update works after this steps.

Thanks.

Only if the carrier you're using is AT&T.

KitKat is a Major Step Backwards for Me

I have an ATT Galaxy Note 3. This update is a major step backwards (read "disaster") for me. 1) With KitKat, the phone can no longer read my [older] bluetooth keyboard, which worked well on 4.3. 2) Apparently with KitKat I cannot save files to my storage card anymore--some of the buzz is that there is a "new protocol for SD cards?" Maybe someone out there can help me with this. 3) It is incorrect that you now "have the option" to choose a default messaging app. That option has always been there. Rather, you are forced to choose a default every time you open a messaging app, so if you (like I) used to enjoy using different messaging apps for different purposes, you are now forced to change the default in order to even use a specific app. 4) My old Quickoffice Pro program will no longer save documents to either the cloud or the SD card, so it is now useless. This may not be Kitkat--it could also be Google deliberately murdering this program (it bought the company, made the program free, and then changed it to work only on Google drive). But since the OS is Android and Google=Android and it all happened when I installed the KitKat OS, I think the buck still stops at the same place ultimately. The one gain for me is that it does seem that the GPS problem is fixed. ATT, please address these problems asap!

I'm getting ~11-12 hours on battery with about 6-7 hours of screen on time, power saving mode off, and lots of other battery killing things enabled. Try a factory reset and disabling almost everything you can in the settings menu (while still maintaining full functionality of the phone, contacts, Play Store, etc). There could also be a rouge app causing your poor battery life. This worked for me, so it's worth a shot.
You can also try turning off "Pocket Mode". Could help a bit

Pocket mode? What's what? Do you mean the increase volume when the phone's in your pocket thing in the call settings?
When you pull the device from your pocket, or if it's on it's face, does the screen automatically come on?

Edit*** I'm not on 4.4 on my Note, so I'm making the assumption that it's a standard feature in the KK ROMs. I think it's also called "Active Display"

The Note 3 doesn't have an active display. You're probably thinking of the Moto X. Custom ROMs can give the Note 3 an imitation of this, but as far as I know none of the ROMs in the development section have this feature.

It was Pocket Mode, but I think it was on a custom ROM. NVM then!
