Both, see OP:Does this install adb only or it installs fastboot as well?
Which Windows version (XP/2000/7/8/10) does this work on?
Thanks!

to 1 when starting the adb server.I can confirm this package works on Windows 10 but only installing manually.I wouldn't advise anyone to install this Tool, it doesn't work on Win10 and there are no ways to completely uninstall it.
There really isn't any need to uninstall it it is such a small file, plus is you are an android user having adb is a no brainer so many pros and such less consI can confirm this package works on Windows 10 but only installing manually.
Installing automatically the problem is installer itself because of script errors inside. But in this case it installs nothing so there's nothing to uninstall.
To install manually you must extract contents of downloaded adb-setup-v1.4.3 (31.0.2-7242960) (April 2021).zip and then once again extract adb-setup-v1.4.3 (31.0.2-7242960) (April 2021).exe installer itself. I was using 7-zip for this. Several directories with files will be extracted:
Windows Device Manager is the best place to monitor if your computer is trying to connect to your phone at all regardless missing/wrong drivers. If there isn't any activity connecting/disconnecting phone to the computer, try other cable.
- adb - there you will find adb and fastboot executables which should be launched using cmd. Location where you will put this directory doesn't matter.
- driver - there you will find DPInst_x64.exe (for 64-bit Windows) and DPInst_x86.exe (for 32-bit Windows). Choose the one right for you and just install launching it. Check if there isn't ADB Interface device with yellow exclamation mark in Windows Device Manager when you connect your phone to the computer. Otherwise you must install driver manually as showed in this video which is posted in the first post of this thread.
big thanks for the update
Hi Experts.
I want to re-lock my OnePlus 6 boot loader. I did the instructions here. But my phone seems cannot be detected in fastboot.
I installed both "adb-setup-1.3.exe" (as the newer versions are not working for me) and "minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4.3_setup.exe". I also installed oneplus drivers.
When I entered the command 'adb devices', it was able to detect my phone. but not with 'fastboot devices' as shown in the attached photos.
Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.

adb reboot bootloader
Try latest ADB and Fastboot drivers from Google:Hi Experts.

It's not portable. It's only pack and unpack script for users see what happens inside exe.I think you want to use the actual files of @zpower five posts above yours: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ds-adb-installer-v1-4-3.2588979/post-87942097
If it's the portable package (without.exe ending) you have to create the directory by yourself ( best is in the root of your system partition like C:\ Adb+Fastboot). The installer should give you the option to create/choose one, the same place would be perfect.
But there should be an install.bat inside the zip to give you more information.
Just use one or other.Than YOU very much for your time and effort in updating this.
Sorry if it's a silly question but:
The install.bat should be runned after the exe?
Thanks
Download the adb-setup 1.4 .4.exe.zip from here:I dont understandI have to save a img file in a directory called adb/fastboot in order for a command to recognize it... can some one walk me through this? Please
BRAIN, 7-Zip, Notepad++, WDK, ResourceHacker, UPX, Android SDK, and maybe something else
Use this its the original direct download from xda.when the installaton got succesful i got notiication from Bitdefender that Ransomeware behaviour detected by adb-setup-1.4.3.exe. Is this file reallly safe and one more thing i wasn't able to download adb file from your source so i used other webpage. xda forum is not letting me paste the here for now.
Nice! Thank you. Will give this a shot. My adb/fastboot quit working when I moved and I cannot get it uninstalled or reinstalled for some reason. Have even tried other one click packages and still no go. Will try tonight. Does this need internet connection to install proper drivers, or are they packaged?
Edit: I just looked at the driver pics and it appears they're local. Great! Thank you.
