Hello, I had the same problem as you. I changed the screen of the Mi Mix 2 and the recovery did not appear, only the gray screen was visible.

I have been testing and managed to adapt the latest TWRP and Orange Fox for "ebbg" screens.

I have tested it on my terminal and it works, install the latest rom of Xiaomi.eu without problems.

If you are interested in trying it, I can pass you a link to download it.

TWRP 3.3.1.1 Ebbg : https://mega.nz/file/sz4Hhaza#SpK6o2bKnlRWISLOX0Nj7dwFp_QruFekoaFxz9eISQw

Orange Fox R10.1_1_Ebbg: https://mega.nz/file/c7oBCAhQ#mpCFVrM9-O7E5en2yQ_dVUAJFXaa18fAIqEDheULVKk
Interesting, if it doesn't break current compatibility with original screens you can send me the needed commits and I may try to merge them in official orangefox.

I don't have that much knowledge. What I did was open the boot of the latest global Miui rom and grab the files: recovery.img-kernel and recovery.img-kernel_offset. I put these files in the recovery boot and they worked.I thought that if the screen worked with the miui rom, it is that the boot had the necessary drivers. What I have not managed to operate stably is the touch.

I'll release a beta r11 soon. In that build, I'll use the kernel extracted by latest miui. Thanks for your tip.

Unified builds. I always enjoyed seeing people ask which one should they use, the SAR or non SAR? I'm joking. ?? Appreciate the update! Orange Fox is my favorite custom recovery! Thank you! :good:

is it possible to boot this recovery wihtout bricking device using abd? wihtout having to flash/replace stock recovery?

If you can get a orange fox recovery image from the dev yes. Then just boot recovery using the fastboot command.

I've had the orange fox 11.0 build for a few months now installed on my mix 2 and I've had no issues whatsoever.

there's a recovery.img file in the flashable zip, is it possible to extract and use fastboot method to boot recovery??

I did it using termux and osmosis's adb magisk module from my oneplus 6t and yes the recovery.img in the zip did boot recovery using the ole: fastboot boot recovery.img as you can see in my terminal in attached screenshot. :)

The recovery.img inside orange fox 11.xx can be used to boot recovery instead of installing it. Just unpack the orange fox 11.x zip and grab recovery.img and use the simple command to boot recovery: fastboot boot recovery.img. Works perfect on my end. One thing I did notice is and maybe because I didn't wait long enough for it to do it's thing but once I sent command to boot recovery my mix 2 seemed kinda like it hung on the orange fox boot screen but I touched my screen and it went directly to the usual recovery menu. No biggy.

2/ A Mi mix 2 with LineageOS 17 and TWRP ?
